I've gone through a lot of changes with the floodlight can over my kitchen sink. It used to have a 65 watt incandescent bulb in it (about 600 lumens), because anything else was either way too bright, or way too dim. Then GE made the "Miser" incandescents, and I switched to a 45 watt, 480 lumen flood -- the perfect amount of light, and used less energy. When CFL bulbs came out, I tired to do the right thing and switch, but most of them were way too bright for my application. Finally, after several years an 18 watt CFL became available that put out 525 lumens, and I switched to that. These bulbs were expensive, and had to be replaced frequently, so even though they were using only 1/3 of the energy of the incandescent, they didn't save me any money, because I had to drop $16 on a new bulb every 18 months or so. The last time I went to replace this bulb, CFLs had disappeared from the market. So I went looking for a suitable LED replacement. Unfortunately, the makers of LED bulbs seemed to believe that "brighter is always better", and everything I could find was way too bright -- 750 lumens or more. (I could have put in a tiny LED "ceiling fan" bulb, those were barely 300 lumens, way too dim). Ironically, I was forced to go back to a 45-watt incandescent bulb. When I spotted these LED bulbs on Amazon at first thought there were a bit elaborate for my application: I didn't really need colors, timers, or remote controls. What finally sold me was the fact that with the remote these bulbs are dimmable, and at the 2nd lowest warm-white setting they put out about 480 lumens, -exactly- the light level I was looking for. So I took the plunge.Pros:* The warm white light is a good analog for the light I had from the original incandescent bulb.* Not too dim; not too bright: I keep the dimmer on the 2nd lowest setting, most of the time, but if I need more light I have the option to go two steps brighter, and I can also go one step dimmer.* At full brightness the bulb puts out about 680-700 lumens, and uses about 12 watts -- economical.* There is a "nightlight" option which goes yet one step below the lowest dimmer setting. At this setting I measured the bulb to be using only 1 watt!* The light can be switched between "warm white" (typical incandescent spectrum) and "cool white" (traditional fluorescent bright white spectrum), which can be handy if you need to do close work.* This bulb runs WAY cooler than even a comparable CFL.* The portable remote control means that you don't need to install an expensive, bulky wall dimmer to control brightness.Other features:(These are bells an whistles that I didn't particularly need, and probably will never use, but they're not defects either, and some may find them useful, so I'm listing them separately):* Other colors can be accessed, including red, blue, green, and several combinations.* There is an "auto change" mode which cycles through all the colors in sequence* There is a timer function that can be set to automatically turn the bulb off in either one, or 24 hours. (I leave mine on all the time, and don't use the timer.)Cons:* The biggest con is the price: almost $30 for 2 bulbs you would maybe pay $8 for as incandescents. This is offset by the various options, and will be further offset if the bulbs turn out to last for a least 2 years or more. I've only had mine in for a month, so this remains to be seen.* You get two bulbs, but only one remote. This is unfortunate since the remote is small and easily misplaced, It also doesn't seem to be that durable, so including a spare (they can't cost that much) would be a great idea, and make the price less of an issue.* The bulb is rather heavy; maybe 4 times the weight of an incandescent. Make sure you fixture is up to supporting this weight before installing.* In the first set I got, one of the bulbs didn't work. However, I contacted the seller and they promptly sent out a replacement.Suggested improvements:* Put a magnet on the back of the remote, and/or a loop so it can be stuck to a refrigerator or hung on a peg.* Design a bulb with only "warm white" and "cool white" options, plus dimmer. (No colors or timers needed.)Overall, a good, versatile product which works well for my application. If it came with 2 remotes, or if it were priced closer to $20, I'd give it 5 stars.EDITED 08/05/21:I've had these bulbs in for over a year now, and they're still going strong, haven't lost any noticeable brightness, and I haven't even had to replace the battery in the remote. Also, a couple of my suggestins have been implemented:* the bulb is available in a warm-white/cool-white option, without the colors, so if you only need white light, that's a good choice* the last couple of packs I purchased each came with a spare remoteGood product, and a company which pays attention to customer feedback. This is now a 5-star product.

3/10 not worth it
I do not recommend. It isn't bright at all, and the remote doesn't seem to work. Threw it out

Awesome, but quality may not be there.
I love decorating for Halloween. I purchased two packs last year to replace the recessed lights outdoor in the eaves above the garage doors. I loved using the remote since I stagger purple and green lights. Then I change them to red and green at Christmas. The rest of the year, they stay on warm white. They’re bright and colorful. However, in one year, one bulb has quit responding to the remote so it’s only a white light. I had to purchase another pack (2 bulbs) to replace this one.

Fun Light
We've had an old, plain white recessed light for years. I wanted to change its color primarily for the theme of a party we were hosting but also because I have been converting all our lights to LEDs. Of course, this bulb is as simple to install as any basic lightbulb is. The remote works very well. I can turn it on and change the light from across the room. I love that it has so many settings and colors available. I thought I might remove it and install an LED white light after our party, but I've decided to continue using this one because I think the various settings will be wonderful throughout the year.

GREAT! but stop working after 2-3 months
Bought two 2-packs on Oct 16, 2023 and they arrived two days later. Everything about them was pretty great for the price - the color, the brightness, and ease of use with the remote. So the next day I ordered two more 2-packs, for a total of 8 bulbs. Everything was great until two months later, when one stopped working correctly. It would stay on cool white, fully bright; and after it's been off a while, it comes on slowly with a dim blue, then brighter blue, and gradually gets brighter until its fully bright and cool white, but does respond to the remote. A week later, another one went into that state. Then two more. Then another. Now three months since I got them, only 3 of the 8 still change colors - and the ones that only shine white get really hot, so I've stopped using those.

Love these for our basement
The warm white matches, the traditional canned lights we have in the basement, but these add a really nice addition when we have get together. One remote will work for all three lights. So we have them in all the time and just change the color when needed.

Just OK
I liked the various colors it can produce but a couple things I did not like: the remote is only good to about 15’. That didn’t work well for my need where the lights were 25’ up without a way to get closer. The control of each light was also a bit confusing. I couldn’t consistently get both to respond so I’d end up with two different colors and needed to keep pressing buttons to get them back in sync. Maybe I just didn’t understand, but it seemed more complicated than it should be.Overall, these are nice and a good price. Just inconveniencing you are changing colors often or they will me mounted far away.
