Commercial electrician here. I’m not a fan of Roto-splits. These are the next best thing. Clean cuts, quick ruffs. {Pro tip, twist the MC to separate the jacket first, then snip it close and cut the corner off the jacket.}

This tool is used to replace the rotosplit.One can become very efficient using this. Example, if youre running luminare MC, you can cut the jacket, the plastic wrap, slide the anti-short in, sort of crimp it using the tools cavity for MC shape resortation if you wish, using the 12 AWG stripper, you can score the dimming wire sheath (careful not to cut into the conductors), pull it off, and strip the conductors without having to change tools.They are small and light, great in tight spots. This tool paired with the compact cable cutter from Klein are two tools great to have to do an MC rough-in.These are also great on sheet metal or trimming down madison bars.

Depending on the brand of MC I use this or just dykes, sometimes this gives a cleaner cut. It is nice to always have the best tool for the task. The wheel cutter is just too slow and awkward IMHO.

Works great for RWA flex. A bit large for 12/2 MC, but still works with a little effort.

I do a lot of single phase wiring. I recently had a job that required an extensive amount of #14 spiral wrapped MC cable. A UTube guy recommended this tool so i purchased one. If you like a clean cut on the end of MC cable this does an excellent job!

They work great overall, not just for mc. Perfect for tape if the wire the tape is on is too delicate to trust a razor. I say I should have gotten a big size only cause with the leverage this one has lines are a lot faster and easier, but, naturally that’s not what their made for. (Since when do electricians use a tool for its intended purpose?)

Not as large as I hope but Klein rarely fails to live up to its reputation and it's a good tool.

The tool you need if you are cutting flexible .I always used the snips but whit time they will come all bend and they will not cut properly. But this product is fantastic.

Better at cutting bx than using Diag sidecutters, but wont be a tool you will have in your side tool pouch, but nice to have in your bigger tool bag.The hole also puts on anti shorts on really well.
