I LOVE chocolate. It's my favorite food
I received a free copy of the ebook Handmade Chocolate in exchange for an honest review.I LOVE chocolate. It's my favorite food. If I could I would eat chocolate everyday. So of course I jumped at the opportunity for a free ebook full of chocolate recipes. The book isn't all that good, though. It needs to be edited by a professional. All books should be professionally edited prior to publishing, even ebooks. One recipe in the book uses the measurement "spoons" multiple times. Not teaspoons, not tablespoons, just spoons. That is not a valid measurement at all. I have a lot of spoons and they are all different sizes. That's a pretty big error to overlook, in my opinion. Another editing error is mixing units. Some measurements are in metric units and some in imperial units. That doesn't make any sense, choose either metric or imperial and stick with it.Now, on to the recipes themselves. There aren't very many in this book, which is fine if you're buying it at the ebook price but if you're paying the full prices for the print edition it is definitely overpriced. Recipes similar to the ones in this book are widely available online, and they stick to one unit of measurements which makes it much easier to follow them. But what about the most important part? How do the chocolates actually taste when made? Well, the answer is they're okay. Of course, the quality of the chocolates will depend on the quality of ingredients you use. So using quality ingredients is a must. Compared to other similar recipes available online the chocolates from this book are no better or worse.

This is not a book but a chapter in a book limited pics
I am a firm believer that a cookbook is not a cookbook without pics, ESPECIALLY when making hand made chocolates. There are only 6 pics in the entire booklet. If you are selling to the American market, use American measuring units. Not edited and it needed to be edited by an editor who is also a good cook. This book could be good with pics, American measuring units and about triple the number of recipes. Otherwise the customer feels ripped off.The reviewer is the author of the Award-winning Kindle book entitled: Sex Education for AdultsSecrets To Amazing Sex and Happily Ever After TooThe book is on the recommended reading list of AASECT on their website: (American Assn of Sexual EducatorsCounselors and Therapists)The best review on the book is by a licensed marriage counselor who credits the book for saving his marriage.I was recently offered a TEDx talk on the book

nice introduction with a diversity of types of chocolates to make
While there is a nice diversity of types of chocolates to make, I was disappointed as I expected much more knowledge/skills to be provided based on the book's description about the author. The photos that are included are wonderful and it would be nice for there to be a photo of each candy. While it does not bother me as I prefer weighing most ingredients, be forewarned that the ingredients are in metric weights. Simple recipes to follow, although it is not clear what is meant by glucose so for at least US cooks, deciding what form that means will be your first challenge to success. (There are not hundreds of recipes as one reviewer indicated, at least not in the ebook I received, nor in the description listed about the book.) My rating always takes in account the value for $ spent and the current list price of $4.99 is over priced for an ebook that contains 25 recipes, and several of those being the filling for chocolate cups (I think it was about 5 fillings). Adjusting the price to match what you are getting in the book would increase to at least 4 stars as it is a good beginner book.

By Dar, The recipes look great....
I would love to give this book a five, the recipes look wonderfull and the Author appears to want to help people understand how to make chocolate candy and that includes what looks like one of the best fudge recipes I have seen, I wish I had found it a few year's ago!!! But she does not always use our method's of measuring things in the USA, using grams at times and ml at times, it is so much easier when someone does the math for you or at least to let you know you screwed up so you can fix it before your recipe is ruined, 😢 but other then that it looke's good to me!! 😁. So I give her give your cups of tea, or use your cocoa recipe because it is really cold out there 😫.

Lots of Recipes and Tips. The ones I tried were Yummy
I love chocolate, who doesn’t, so when I was given the opportunity to read and review this book I jumped at the chance. I have tried to make chocolate candies several times. Usually they ended up gooey when they were supposed to be hard or hard when they were supposed to be gooey. I think that was because I didn’t temper the chocolate correctly. Now I won’t have that problem. This book gives you several methods for tempering chocolate, the author even provides instructions for melting the chocolate in the microwave should you not have a double boiler. The book starts out with a delicious recipe for hot chocolate and the author even shares how her mother used to make this recipe for her and her brother. Throughout the book there are several references, within the recipes, of the author’s mother making and serving some of these recipes to her as a child. There are a lot of different recipes in this book and they all contain chocolate of course. There are chocolate candies, fudge, a yummy chocolate covered popcorn, chocolate corn flakes, chocolate spread, as well as several different fillings for the chocolate candies. The recipes are easy to follow and the directions are well written. Some of the recipes have variations you can use should you not like the original.I would recommend this book to anyone looking to make some chocolate candy. I would even suggest you get it just for the hot chocolate recipe alone. It’s way better than any hot chocolate mix you can buy in the store.I received this book for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. My opinions are my own. Although I have not made all the recipes in this book, I have tried a few and they were easy and delicious.

Surprisingly limited content
I had expected more variation in the recipe content: there are candies, truffles and cups (put very basically). There are some flavour variations which are helpful but all in all it feels like I'm missing half of the book?

Not enough pictures
Sadly there are not enough pics in this book for me to want to follow any of the recipes
