Magimix 5200XL Premium Food Processor, Red

I considered other premium brands out there but eventually the choice fell on magimix, a brand I had no experience with prior to this purchase.The machine is fantastic, truly quiet (for a food processor), versatile, easy to use once you've had a go or two. It also doesn't take as much kitchen space as expected, which is great as space is a premium for myself.I initially thought I would be able to use the different sized bowls to my liking, but found that often you have to choose bowl based on what you are attempting to do. For example, some of the attachments only work with the big bowl and some only work with the medium bowl.When using the medium bowl it also sometimes means the big bowl needs washing, so theres some extra work there. It results in many items to clean even when using just the small bowl but the results are great. I let everything except the blades drip dry, the blades get washed and cleaned for optimal care.If you never had a food processor, like myself, there will be a learning curve that's not the machines fault: don't blend your potato mash or guacamole dip too much as it loses its texture and becomes unappetizing. Also ensure your think through your process to minimise clean up (what needs most cutting? It goes in first, then less cutting items afterwards without removing the first batch), it allows you to be even more effective.

Bought to replace my broken cheapo one and thought I would splash out.Absolutely love that it does everything you could need, looks impressive and works like a dream + really quiet.Accessories neatly stored in provided holder/tray with hinged lid, really good quality guides and recipes included for food and drinks, can't fault it.I was lucky to get a warehouse deal massively discounted and I searched well to check. I love the one time code delivery arrangement with the driver which means it cannot be left outside or at the wrong address, the driver even called me on arrival such good service.Would highly recommend this product.

I promised myself a decent food processor one day....and finally bought the Magimix. It's a substantial machine with a powerful motor, that's very quiet when in use. initially I had an issue, but a quick exchange of emails with Amazon had it sorted.The processor is a delight to use, the three bowl idea is brilliant as I can whizz through different foods without having to stop and clean between each one. And when it does come to clean up, everything just washed through easily.I leave it and the blades caddy out on the worktop so I can just go to it when required.I've not used all the attachments and blades yet - I'm taking my time to fully get to grips with what the Magimix can do and what it's capable of.....but it's already become my must-have kitchen apliance!

So far it has done everything I have asked of it e.g. mixing cakes and pastry, preparing bread dough, slicing vegetables and juicing citrus fruit without a problem. I only hope that the spindle does not become worn like my previous model and affect the working of the dough blade.

This thing is a beast but in a good way. The looks, build quality, attachments and performance are absolutely amazing and so glad i invested in this. I decided to make a small batch of fresh tomato sauce but couldnt be bother to peel the skins on the tomatoes. I put them in the midi and it blitzed them to perfection and had NO remains or visible spots of skin anywhere in the sauce - its that good!The attachments that came with my 5200XL premium made it feel like the swiss army knife of food processors. With this mass array of attachments at my disposal i feel like that there is nothing that i couldnt make in the kitchen. Please be super careful with the blade and disc slicer attachments as these are extremely sharp. I test both the small and large blade with paper and it sliced right through - you’ve been warned!The product itself is so well built and designed that it feels as though its something that will be passed down the family as an heirloom.

Robust, powerful, looks great, quieter than our last one and comes with so many attachments we still haven't used them all.Easy to clean even though we are not putting it in the dishwasher.Definitely something worth saving up for and it looks great on the worktop so the weight isn't an issue.Negatives? Only small niggles really. No form of cable tidy and there is a lot of packaging, including polystyrene.

Horrible product. Not worth the price at all. Waste of money.

My Whisk does not work it catches the lid, hence now a damaged lid and the metal shaft gets really hot, waiting for response from magimix now. Double checked everything was put together correctly so maybe just faulty :(
