The Perfect Shot II: A Complete Revision of the Shot Placement for African Big Game

Excellent book, with good photos, on many of the African animals, their behavior and their anatomy. Very good resource for factual information and some of the author’s opinions, on rifles to take. The photos are good but some of the drawing overlays seem a little off but fine for their intended use.

This is a must have if you are going to Africa to hunt. Excellent photos and text. An awesome book.

I purchased the first edition of Kevin Robertson's book "The Perfect Shot" in the early 2000s. I thought it was extremely well written and found it very helpful in preparing for several African safaris I took over the next few years. Believe it or not, Robertson did an excellent job of improving upon it with "The Perfect Shot II." Not only does it contain updated information on bullets that reflects advances in technology since he originally wrote the book many years ago, but it also has detailed information on several other animals that the first book lacks. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to any hunters getting ready to go to Africa.If you are planning a hunt in Africa, then do yourself a favor and buy this book. It's money well spent!

Excellent photo's and diagrams of location of vital organ locations and bone structure of African game animals.

A comprehensive book on the real anatomy of making a hunting shot as quick and humane as possible to end a trophy animal's life. Lots of insight into what happens with both good and bad shots from an author who is both a professional hunter and veterinarian . His wife is a professional wildlife photographer so this book is as good as any I have ever seen on the subject.

Best wildlife photography I've seen (author's wife). Comprehensive and practical. Definitely recommended for a hunter heading to Africa.

Well worth the money! If you're going to spend thousands on your dream hunt to Africa, buy this a long time before.

Corner of book was smashed from shipping. So that was a little disappointing. However, the content of the book is amazing!

Superb well written book by someone who really understands hunting and it’s importance and legitimate place in the conservation of Africa’s wildlife for the benefit of Africans as well as foreigners lucky enough to be able to visit the game reserves and parks.
