A great tool to have.
I love love love this little magnetic bowl. I was skeptical before I bought it. I thought the magnet would be weak. Or, on the opposite extreme, it would be too strong and mess with the computer in my sewing machine. But it is perfectly magnetic, and has no effect on my sewing machine. You can use the bottom of the bowl to pick up pins off the floor, or anything else that's metal. It is large enough to hold your thread snippers, wonder clips (if you have the kind with metal innards), etc., and still have plenty of room to rifle around in your pins. I can't imagine not having it now. Probably my favorite notion ever!!!!!

Super heavy duty bowl and magnet!
If you need a VERY strong magnetic bowl, this one is for you! It's sold as a pin bowl, but it would be equally (and possibly better) suited for small items such as screws, etc., on a workbench. I use them at work where they are very securely sitting atop our industrial sewing machines. The pins are too difficult to get out for us to use on the cutting tables. The magnet is incredible. If you need a magnetic pin bowl that you can easily slide a pin out of, this is NOT the one you want.

Great for long arm quilters holds large pins easy to get off the magnet
I love the size and how it holds onto the smallest piece of metal

Very strong magnet! No more poked fingers.
Oh! To be able to grab a pin and not get my fingers stuck!! I was using a regular plastic food storage dish for my pins, and I couldn't reach in to grab one without stabbing myself most of the time. I can guarantee that this dish will pick pins up from the carpet too. The very first day I had it, I was bringing up a box of pins from the basement and managed to dump it on the carpeted stairs. The carpet is a dull tan/gray color (same as our mud here) and I couldn't see the pins well, even after I turned on the light. Went back up and grabbed the bowl, then used it to pick the pins out of the carpet in no time. Went back down with a strong flashlight then, just to be sure. Not a single pin remained in the carpet.I can see this being very useful to hold small parts, screws and so forth for any building or repair project too. I'm going to get another one for my son.

Holding my pins
Works well. Bowl holds we to take up arm of longarm quilt machine. Easy to pin new quilt in place with pins handy

Good magnetic bowl
Very nice bowl, no stupid logos like the other one's, but the magnet is at the base of the bowl. I wish it was on the sides as well so you could put some screws on the edges instead of the base, but nonetheless you can organize it nicelyThe magnet is very very very strong, amazing tool if you build a lot and want to stay organized with your screws

Good, but colored would be better
The less expensive one was out of stock and I needed one right away, so I bought it. It's good quality. The magnet is super strong. It's strong enough that pins will cling to other pins, not just the magnetic bowl itself. It's handy to have. However, I think it would be better in workshop, used for holding small tools, screws, and nails. For sewing, a colored magnetic bowl would be better. I'm always cautious when taking a pin out of the bowl out of fear I'll prick myself, because silver against silver is tough to see.

Holy Grail sewing product!
Absolutely incredible product. A large bowl, a very strong magnet, and if you kick it and it tips over, your pins will stay put. I flip it over and use to to collect pins off the floor or desk and am able to toss pins in its general direction and it will catch it.
