Foot plates are perfect to size. I'll just have to do a lot of breaking the leather in. Great quality, style and materials. I bought my first pair at the San Diego County Fair and loved them so much that I bought more, in several colors (white, black, brown, hot pink, gold) online.I like that the straps are leather, there is no transfer of dye or color onto the soles of my feet, and the soles are sturdy with some traction (non-slip). They are extremely well made and I have not yet had a strap break. I keep some of them around as spares to slip on when commuting from work or after a long job. There is a pair in my back pack, a pair in my car, a pair at my son's home for when I visit, a pair as my "indoor shoes" (we take off our shoes when we come in the house), and a couple pairs I wear wherever...I've put miles on these shoes in a shopping jaunt but they do not have arch support so I would not use these for extended wear/all day walks. They are just easy on/ easy off, comfortable for their purpose, and look attractive.One warning: The first month we had our puppy, he got a hold of two of these sandals (one each from two pairs). It only took a few chews for him to cut through the leather strap. Considering that he has not chewed on or destroyed anything else around the house, ... okay, he likes to shred paper ... I'd say there is something that really attracted him to the leather in these shoes. Beware if you have a bouncy puppy around.
