The replacement works perfectly and I think I just got a bum part initially.Pros:- Inexpensive. Getting tools and the part separately would cost much more.- Includes most tools that you'll need.- Anecdotally, it seems to improve my cell signal over the original part. Could just be my mind playing tricks on me or a lucky signal, but I noticed about a 3-5dBi gain in my garage.Cons:- The plastic spreaders included with this are cheap and shred apart as you use them (picture attached). You can get the back cover off, but the possibility of reuse drops once you're done.- 3 of the 4 screwdrivers included are not needed to do the replacement. Neither is the suction cup or the guitar pick-looking tool. Not really a problem, just confusing.- You need tweezers to do the replacement. I recommend something with a thin, sharp edge for pulling the old board away from the adhesive. UPDATE: the seller sent some tweezers with the replacement part. This was very helpful both for removing the antenna connectors on the part and getting the part itself out of the housing.As long as you have tweezers or that starts being included in the kit, this is a great replacement for the USB charging port or LED. I'm also impressed that the seller reached out after a negative review to make it right. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Fix for Charging Port but Speaker Problems *by B***B on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on January 8, 2016* This was just what my phone needed for fixing my charging problems. The replacement took about 15 minutes and was very straightforward. This part appears to be an almost exact replacement for the old charger port. The phone now charges as fast and reliably as when it was new. However, the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't play well with the speaker. I had to fiddle with the placement of the speaker several times to get the sound to work, and finally had to leave the two leftmost speaker screws (of the four) loose in order to have sound. If I tightened all four screws, I would lose the sound. Apparently, something isn't fitting just right but I can't figure out what it is. It all looks correct. I plan to try again another day, and I'll update this review if I find the answer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Some initial problems, but the seller was very helpful & responsive. He also appears to be working on solutions to make sure that this part installation is more reliable for future buyers. That is highly commendable. I will update this review and my rating after testing the replacement part.------------------------------------------------------------Original Review: I had the same issue as another reviewer. I tried installing this part 3 times (with great care), and in all cases, the speaker would not function once it was secured in place. There was no speaker issue when the original part was put back in place and secured.To clarify, the speaker on the Nexus 5 is connected to this board via contact with "pins" on the of the board. There is no "snap-on" connector, but rather, the speaker needs to sit in the correct location and be physically pressed against the correct portion of the board.I did some significant trouble-shooting of the issue by playing music while adjusting the position of the speaker (I don't recommend doing this yourself), so I could tell when a secure connection was made. If the speaker portion was only partly pushed into place, I could get sound, but there was no way to secure the speaker to the phone and reinstall the back of the phone without disrupting this tenuous connection. No tweaks that I could devise were able to solve the issue (shims, insulating contact points that might be shorting the connection, etc).The good: Aside for the speaker/speakerphone, everything else worked, including charging functionality. The kit came with a handy repair kit to assist with opening your phone (though the plastic opening tools are a bit fragile, so use care).The bad: No speaker or speakerphone functionality! There seems to be a quality control issue or design flaw in the part that I received. This part is NOT the same as the original (the boards are similar, but not identical. That would be fine if the promised functionality were achieved, but that was not the case.Bottom line: There appears to be some amount of luck involved with making a repair using this part. You may get lucky and get a usable replacement part. Or you may get an item that causes new issues with your phone. For me, this was a large waste of time and energy.
