Nordic Ware Covered Bowl Set, 8-pc, Set of 8, Coastal Colors, 2 quarts

There are times when I feel more comfortable using a stainless steel bowl bc they are so easy to just toss in the dishwasher to get clean. For everything else, I grab these beautiful bowls! The lids snap on with a firm push in the center and I have not had any leaking issues. The lids make them great for transporting food to a potluck or storing something in the fridge. The colors are fun and after over a year of use I have not noticed any discoloration.When I first received them I noticed one bowl was missing the white rubber insert that makes it not slip on the counter. I contacted NordicWare customer support and they mailed me a replacement ring to pop in. Great customer service! Proud to purchase an American made product. They are not the cheapest bowls on the market but you get what you pay for. This is a quality product that I will be able to enjoy using in my kitchen for many years.

I bought this set for 1 main reason, I needed a food bowl for my cat that was large, and with a lid. I would just use the rest of the bowls in the kitchen. The bowls are great - thick and heavy duty plastic but lightweight, non-skid bottoms, smooth edges, cleans easy. The lids don't snap, they just sort of rest inside the rim on the bowl. They won't work well for the kitchen, or for my cat's food bowl (she lifted it right off without any effort). I thought about returning them, but they really are great bowls. I'm buying some silicone lids in hopes that would work on these bowls.Overall, these bowls with lids are overpriced significantly for what they are ($30 for the set of 4 bowls and 4 lids). I know they sell these bowls without the lids for $10 less, and that seems a little more fair. I will be reaching out to the manufacturer and Amazon to see if they are willing to assist, and will update this feedback if they do.EDIT: After reaching out to Nordic Ware, they sent replacement lids and they work much much better. my original 3/5 stars is 5/5. I am really enjoying these bowls, and my cat hates the new snugger lid, so it's perfect lol.

The thing that almost made me choose not to buy this set is the many comments saying that the lids just sit on top of the bowls. So I want to make something clear. In the "use and care instructions" it clearly says that to achieve an air tight fit you need to press firmly in the center of the lid...not the edges. There is a well defined textured circle in the middle of the lid and that is where you push. VOILA!I'm glad I took a chance because I really like this set. It's attractive. The colors make me happy. It's sturdy. It's gently rounded so stuff doesn't get stuck in the bottom. IT'S MADE IN THE USA BY A FAMILY OWNED COMPANY IN BUSINESS SINCE 1946! It's top rack DW safe but the two biggest don't fit in top shelf so I need to wash them by hand. They are light enough that I can use and wash without irritating the arthritis in my hands. I'm very happy with my purchase and would buy again.

The bowls are sturdy, yet lightweight so easy to handle for mixing, larger servings, etc. The lids do not give a liquid or air tight seal. They easily pop off. To keep them closed, I put another item or container on top. Thus the lids are basically useless. I purchased the set of 4 as I needed serving or mixing bowls that were lighter weight to replace my heavy ones.

The media could not be loaded.  We have reordered these bowls 3 times. In the hopes of, what we now realize is a manufacturing defect, being only a random issue. These bowls have a rubber ring on the bottom, which is supposed to prevent them from slipping. Unfortunately, and we find this mostly on the largest bowl but it can be on the other bowls as well… the channel the ring is supposed to lock into, is not deep enough or secure enough to keep the ring from coming out. And once it starts coming out, there’s no keeping it in, unless you glue it. When you try to push the ring back into the channel, the ring will not stay and continually pops out with the slightest touch. Despite all of our best efforts and making sure it is fully back in the channel. Some of the bowls, the ring stays in well, so far. However, the largest bowl; the ring constantly pops out and that’s the bowl you really need the “nonslip” feature with, when mixing. I love Nordicware, I love their products we have pots, pans, and microwave products from them. This is the first product of theirs I am truly disappointed in the quality. I also don’t understand how this issue MUST be known to them, but they have yet to fix/redesign the issue. Especially since I’ve re-ordered this set of bowls three times, hoping initially it was just a random issue. However, all three sets of bowls have the exact same problem, which tells me this is an ongoing and known issue. The quality of the rest of the bowls so far have been great and we would like to enjoy them, but I will be ordering a different set of bowls and returning these.

At first I thought I had a defective set, the lids did not snap on at all. There is a raised mark in the center of the lid instructing you to press down to lock. I was pressing down using my fingers in the center area, but they would not lock on. Then I noticed that the marked area to press down is large, like maybe 3 inch diameter. So I used my fist to press down, and the lids locked! I believe you have to place the bowl on a sturdy surface, and use your palm or fist to press in the center to get the lid to flex enough to lock onto the bowl.

These did not disappoint. They’re made in the USA; they’re quite sturdy and attractive; the size range is greater (larger) than most sets; each bowl has a lid and they all stack inside of one another - with the lids on! You can also put them in the DW, top rack!

These arrived on time and in perfect condition. The oily smudges/fingerprints are just residue from manufacturing and packaging. Everything needs to be washed before first use, anyway.I actually bought the set for the 7 quart bowl, as that's the one I really wanted. The lids fit nicely. They're the kind where you put the lid on then push down on the center. These will be perfect for making sauerkraut and kimchi. The lids will provide a cover for the diced and sliced vegetables before putting it all in jars.

The bowls are nice, they are sturdy and the lids fit well and are easy to remove. They Would even make nice serving bowls. However these bowls are extremely overpriced. You can buy the set without the lids for $32 but if you want to lids I ended up paying $73. I can’t see how the lids would be worth $40. The whole set should be $40 including lids

Great colour. Lids fit securely. Perfect sizes. The large size bowl is fantastic!Price is way too high$$$
