One of the better j-hooks I've seen on Amazon. I've bought a couple different brands listed with and ultimately ended up returning them (bad welds, surface rust, etc). These are good enough for the price.The pad screws are inset enough on the back that do not scratch your rack but these do tend to slip (could benefit from a pin).As other reviews have mentioned the quality control is pretty poor. I have bought 2 pairs of these and both have paint issues. My second set arrived recently with paint already chipped off right out of the box, despite the packaging itself being very good. It's not worth returning/replacing for the same issue to happen again so I'll probably just use them until they start to rust and toss them.Also looks like the rubber pads can vary. They do include an extra replacement set, which is nice, but the ones I received had very dried out old rubber compared to my first order which looked brand new. Would have preferred plastic over rubber because it is already starting to get trashed on my first set.

I've buy and sell lifting equipment all the time and have had well over a dozen 2x2 inch framed squat racks. Normally the bar catches are garbage and I like to upgrade them with j-hook style catches like these. I've had several brands, but this is my favorite so far. First, the paint, doubt its powder coating, is if a higher quality and seems more finished. Second, the pads are slightly softer than the harder plastic ones. I know it's less durable, but I prefer the feel and sound of the softer ones when I rack my barbell. Third, the extra included pads are great-Ive never saw a pair included like that. Lastly, their price was better than most other jhooks too. Almost forgot, they were really well packaged too. Would highly recommend them. I wish the company offered them in 2x3, I'd buy an extra set.

These power racks don't produce any sound when I drop heavy barbell on because the pads on them. They also protect the barbell from scretches. It's been over a month and they seem sturdy. The only thing that I have concern is that these racks are not build in one piece. Instead, they were in pieces and soldered together. As you know the soldering material is not metal and if something really heavy that exceeds it's weigh limit, it's going to break. Since my barbell is not super heavy as those of professional athletes so, I am happy with them. Price wise, I hope they can be cheaper.

I purchased 2 sets of these, from 2 different companies. When they arrived, there was a big chip of paint missing… on both orders. How does this happen? Apparently there isn’t any ‘Quality Control’ to review the hooks before they are shipped… or maybe there was, and no one cared? The damage didn’t happen in transit, as the hooks are packed well. The actual function of the hooks is great, they are very solid. However, if you are someone who doesn’t like their brand new items looking beat-up, right out of the box… you may want to reconsider. Time will tell if they start to rust due to the missing paint. I’ve attached pics…

I can tell I'm going to like these. Solid build. Rubber padding on j hooks should help quite down racking the bar, I work out at home late at night. Also will help preserve the finish on my new bar when it arrives. The old chrome ones that came with the rack were tearing up the old chrome bar. No reason to think these won't hold up, plus extra pads. No issues with screws being too long like other mentioned.

Honestly I should have just read the description better. Rubber on a J-Cup is a horrible design. If you have a bar with any moderately aggressive knurling, it will grab and bite without sliding. It makes re-adjusting a loaded bar a PITA. I squat in the low 400's and don't see this lasting very long.

There is rubbing padding on these hooks that create friction and get in the way if you like to unrack for bench press by sliding the bar up the rack.I’ve loaded 225 onto the hooks without any issues.

I had a problem with my first order, contacted the company and they were very prompt and responsive. Excellent customer service. The J hooks work great. They are sturdy and have plenty of padding. I like that they give an extra set of padding. Will work with Fitness Reality rack or ProGear rack.
