Barrington Hardwoods Walnut Lumber - 3/4" x 6" (3/4" x 6" x 24") (2 Pcs)

I was looking for a really sturdy and hard wood. I gotJust that. Was easy to use for my project, the cut of wood was great and the natural color was just what I was looking for! The wood was thick and good quality.

Needed some Walnut for a project quickly and was trying to figure a lowing cost solution as this is not something a regular hardware store stocks. Amazon was my last port of call, read the reviews and took the leap. Shipping was fast, efficient, well packaged and the walnut was well finished and ready to use. Very happy with what I received, a little over $10 per board foot of walnut, dried, finished and ready to use, not a bad deal.

I ordered a few boards in a few different species from this company. The wood arrived in separate packages as expected. The wood is excellent and packaged well. My gripe is that the cost I paid for 2 separate orders, was combined into one and doesn't show an accurate total of what was ordered. This may be an issue wholey with Amazon. BUT I want to show how much in Board Feet is being charged.Walnut 3/4"x6"x3' = 1.125 Board Feet. ~ 2(pcs) = 2.25 2.25 bf/per 2 piece orderCost for me, of this posting = $22.15Maple " "Cost for me, of this posting = $16.40They have to surface/Kiln dry (very good for DIYer) and package and get the material in bulk to begin with so those costs are legit. But shop around if you wish to find much better pricing. It's Amazon so takes this with a grain of Maple.

I have received my second order from Barrington Hardwoods and they were both well above average quality. Walnut lumber is crazy expensive overall, but the cost per bd/ft here was better than competitors. I am expanding my kitchen which is walnut cabinetry so this is being used for the new drawer fronts and all the interface transitions. I used walnut veneer on the new large surfaces, and the end result is quite stunning.I prefer quarter sawn stock (straight grain lines) with minimal and balanced sapwood (sapwood can be awkwardly lighter in color) but the lumber I received was a nice usable compromise of cuts. The dimensions were accurate (maybe 1/32 shy on width but normal). No waste because of defects or twisting. Shipping was immediate on both orders so they arrived earlier than expected. No promotions here, just a recently retired guy who hates to get screwed by dishonest vendors. This one appears legit.

I’m not one for reviews but that lumber was beautiful. It came in at 3/4 x6” on the money. I ordered the 48” boards and it came in at 48 1/4. It was square, no jointing or planning required. Was the easiest I’ve ever made into a cutting board

Walnut dimensional lumber is really hard to find. I serched local lumber stores and big name brand hardware stores, but no walnut lumber was available. The packaging was great and the lumber itself was perfect in dimension and surface condition was perfect. I will surely buy them again. I just wish it comes longer like 6 feet so I have more option for the type of furniture I can start.

This is great for what I'm doing.

I had to use the jointer to get these even half way usable, taking off almost 20% of the material to get it flat. Worst cupping I have seen in such a short board.
