so far, so good (< 1 week)
I just installed this thing very recently and it worked beautifully!there are a couple of issues that occurred during installation.Firstly, this thing is wider than the door frame but that wasn't the problem. the problem was, when i measured and bound the excess, then installed it, the mesh screen could not close anymore! the problem was, i followed the parallel lines that go vertically on the edge i was binding up and it turns out that the side where the magnets were attached were not perfectly parallel!!! that means, if you were to hang this thing on a perfectly straight surface, you'd get gaps and you'd see the panels are crooked in some areas. this wasn't a deal breaker for me though, i just let out some material from the bound side to compensate. this mesh is not very stretchy, but it stretches enough to compensate for the 1/2" or so gaps here and there. The same thing happened for the vertical alignment but i just compensated.another issue is that this mesh only has the nylon covered edges (where you'd attach the velcro with a sticky side) at the very edges for about 1" all around. This means, if your door isn't wide enough, you have to bind it like i did. if you bind it on either side, you'll see that the velco now has to stick to the mesh itself and not on a nylon layer. this will cause trouble eventually, the mesh will likely rip around the velcros because of the stress. I rolled up the extra, and attach the mesh to the velcro and used the tacks to hold it all together. This isn't a great solution though, but it works for now. I'll probably end up drawing a line down where the velcro will be and sewing on some nylon or similar. the nylon does 2 things, it gives the velcro a surface to attach (tape) to and it distributes all the stress over a larger area so the mesh won't rip as easily.these magnets are not very strong, but they do the job fine if aligned enough. you need to align it decently because you don't want the mesh to overlap. if it overlaps, the magnets will hold it there but they create a small gap since the magnets are not flat.I would recommend this mesh screen with a few suggestions. Use a tension rod (think shower curtain or window curtain) on the top and use better double sided tape. I like the red 3m outdoor stuff, holds like a dream.most of the complaints i read on amazon seemed to be about the velcro not holding up but that wasn't an issue for me since i was planning on using my own double sided tape. something like this: "Scotch Permanent Outdoor Mounting Tape"http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Permanent-Outdoor-Mounting-4011-LONG/dp/B000BL5INM/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1399328225&sr=8-12&keywords=3m+double+sided+tapealthough, i once had a roll of similar that was not foam, but some rubbery plastic. that stuff was even better. either way, still good!FYI, if you do need to be able to take this thing down and put it back up, you can attach the doublesided tape to the velcro, but the 3m tape might pull some paint off! it's seriously strong.

Fantastic- Simple and Very Useful - Great Value!
I can't believe how useful this product is. I have a rolling aluminum screen door consisting of two halves that close when the two halves meet. Because it was not made well, the screen door's rollers keep rolling off the track, making it a pain to open and close. Always it is an effort at patience, and many times I lose it. I had attempted to get it fixed, but to no avail, largely because it's better to simply replace than to repair, reflecting the shoddy workmanship in building the screen door. But because it's expensive to replace, I had decided to uninstall the screen door, and just have a rolling glass door. But a glass door blocks the cool outside air.Since the width of this product is half the width of my screen door, I had to gerry rig the screen doors such that it is halfway open so that I can install the Magna Screen in the open space. Then, to keep anyone from accidentally moving the screen door, I had to fasten a rod on the top rail of the screen door to practically jam and keep the screen door panels from moving. That was the harder part, as I had to drill some holes and screw the rod in place. Installing the Magna screen was easy, as it involved only attaching the supplied Velco strips. Thereupon I began enjoying the ease of going thru the Magna screen. My cats took to its use like they're born with it. Compared to the metal screen door, more air was being let it as well providing more breeze to the house. Hmmm... Maybe all door and windows screens should be like this- if only they can be as tough as they are conducive to ventilation.I think it is but natural for us to find ourselves adjusting the Velcro strips after a day or two as we notice the Velcro adhesive backing slipping slightly off the Magna cloth borders. This is where I am amazed to find the magnets doing the job of cleaning up after my less-than-perfect install. It's righting my misaligned setup! This is where it pays to make sure you make the extra effort to clean the surface of dirt so the adhesion of the Velcro doesn't degrade.A heavy duty industrial grade Velcro is needed for a long lasting adhesion to the top border of the Magna screen, and this is a separate purchase-a must. Don't go overboard and use on all sides though. The weight of the magnet exerts a load that can't be met by the regular Velcro strips that came with the product, just use the heavy duty Velcro on the top border!Would have been five stars if heavy duty Velcro were supplied.
