informative
Schwab sets a few rules that he clarifies well: invest for growth (meaning stocks), set goals like retiring at a certain age, keep perspective and don't panic in a downturn, and stay involved by reading and learning. He reviews some steps for financial security, like establishing an emergency fund and insuring against losses of income because of death or disability of a breadwinner. He then provides an overview of investment strategies. It's a good book for someone who is just starting or who has been reluctant to start planning for financial security.

Has been writing
Too old. Most of the material came from his first book "You're Fifty What Now". Just another regurgitation of the same.Maybe he should really retire and do something else with remainder off his time. It's not relevant in today's world.

I can't use this!
The book looks interesting, but it was ordered by mistake. I don't have the device necessary to read this book, so I have not been able to see it. I couldn't find a way to return it.

His word is like his company
It is rare when you can find a wealthy financial advisor who actually speaks to the average person. His word is like his company, absolute integrity and common sense.

Great book that describes how to invest
This is an excellent book that does a great job explaining the mechanics of how to invest. In very plain English, it walks you through how to open up a retirement account, how to choose to invest within your retirement account and how to evaluate how your investments are doing. I find that a lot of investment books tell you what to do, but not how to do it. The "how" is where this book really excels for me.

Good old fashioned common sense investing advice. Probably the best way to go.

For the lay
The content is simply for a person knowing nothing at all i.e. truely for the lay but does not give details which are expected from such an expensive book. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wishes value for money.
