This is a well-made, high quality brush
I own a number of shaving brushes, including two silvertip badger brushes. This brush by Taconic is attractive and well-made. (It works better than my other silvertip.)People have mentioned hair loss. Well, this brush has lost ONE hair (which was loose on arrival). And right out of the box, it doesn't have an "animal odor".It is slightly heavier than some brushes, but it is a comfortable weight and a pleasure to use.If you want to indulge, this is as good a place as any.P.S. The cheap plastic stand is a waste of material.

Love it.
Can definitely tell the difference with the genuine badger. This brush is lush and soft and produces an amazing lather.

Premium brush with a premium price
Everything about this brush seems premium. The fit and finish is great, the bristles are soft and uniform, and the metal is nicely machined.I do have a few issues that detract from the product and the purchase product. One is that this thing is heavy. Normally, a solid weight lends to the overall premium experience, but this is too much. The brush winds up feeling unbalanced and like it takes an inordinate amount of effort to use. My next issue is that the handle is chunkier than I prefer. Some may like it, but it feels like I’m using one of those oversized beginner pencils. Lastly, $60 is a lot for a shave brush, and the value proposition here is lacking.Overall, this is a solid, premium brush with some aspects I didn’t particularly care for. Since what I didn’t like is a personal preference, others may feel differently and love it, but I find it hard to recommend at this price point.

My favorite shaving brush!
I have been shaving with straight edge razors for approximately 10 years now. My first brush was from Art of Shaving and it cost $50 back then. Since then I have tried at least eight different brushes ranging from $20 to $70 and none were as good as the one from Art of Shaving. The bristles were always loose and falling out. This brush, not only do the bristles stay, it is soft, full, and lathers very nicely (I use shaving soap in a cup). This brush is not cheap. It costs the same as an Art of Shaving brush but it is even better and will not disappoint.

Super
I have for ages wanted to own a luxury shaving brush, and this one certainly fits the bill. No knots are praised more than the silver tip badgers, while this one lives up to the promise. It creates a luxurious lather, while spreading it on is a joy.It feels great in my hand. The entire brush weighs 4.2 ounces, which is just the right amount of heft. From the solid beech wood handle, to the chrome accents and soft brush, it gives a full impression of quality, and is a most welcome addition to my shaving routines.

Nice brush but....
This brush is very well made and has a nice heft to it. The bristles are nice too. It whips up a nice lather and applies evenly. I really do love this brush. Some items scream high quality, this does not disappoint. The stand on the other hand, not so much. It is just a cheap plastic stand. I think it should have come with a stand of the same quality. Especially for the price. It is what it is, I'll have to settle with what was provided. If budget isn't a concern, this brush is very nice, you won't be disappointed.

Great shaving brush
This badger hair shaving brush is so soft and whips up a great lather. Lathering shaving soap on your face with this brush is a joy. The wood handle and the chrome accents give the brush a sophisticated look and character. The handle has the right heft to it and is very comfortable to hold in your hand. The only downside is the cheap plastic stand it comes with.

Expensive shaving brush. Nice brush, cheap plastic stand, adequate packaging
This is a nice shaving brush, with thick bristles and a nice wooden handle. It feels very comfortable in the hand. It's a small bit of luxury. That said, the price is pretty high, and for a price like that, I expect the whole deal to be of premium quality--not just the brush, but accessories. After all, this is more likely going to be bought as an extravagance as a gift than as a personal necessity. And in that respect, this falls down. The included stand is really cheap plastic and doesn't match the quality of the brush at all.The brush itself is very nice, but the stand is dollar store quality.
