These were purchased to make alcohol inks
I watched a video on Youtube (Myriam's Nature) where Myriam attempted to use these basic dyes to make alcohol inks by dissolving the dyes in isopropyl alcohol. While the dyes were vibrant in alcohol, when applied to a surface and after the alcohol evaporated, the dye returned to a much duller color. However, the trick is to use Claro Extender (or another alcohol colorless blender that contains some binders) from Jacquard to disperse the dye, and the vibrancy of the dissolved dye is retained. All in all, a successful experiment and now I have enough dye make gallons of alcohol inks to play with of any color. This set contains primary colors (red, blue, yellow), secondary colors (orange, green, purple) and brown and black, very versatile for color customization.

This is not a fabric dye
For the people saying it didn’t work on their cotton shirts, and it washed out. This is not a fabric dye. This is a synthetic and a wood dye. Jacquard makes a top quality fabric dye for tye dying shirts… please use that.

Great wood dye just hoped for more in each container.
I used the dye to dye wood spice racks for toy figures for a child’s room. Theses dyes were very vibrant! Exactly what I was hoping for. I wish they came with little plastic spoons. Was also dissatisfied with the amount of powder in each container but it was enough for my project. I didn’t use the brown. The dye did the job VERY quickly!

Great for alcohol ink
I have tried many ways to make my own alcohol ink. Someone mentioned they used this stuff in a review. I didn’t like how rit worked but I love every Jacquard product I’ve tried. This stuff produces very strong, vibrant ink when used with strong alcohol (I use high proof grain or 99% isopropyl). It is a bit gritty so I mix it first with a smidge of water or alcohol to get the lumps out.

Bottles were practically empty
You do not get a lot for how much you pay.
