Amazing Juicer
This is like the Cadillac of juicers in my opinion. This is the third juicer I've owned. The previous two were centrifugal juicers and each lasted about a year. Once I realized I was serious about juicing, I spent the money on this Ventray model, which is a masticating juicer. I thought the price was reasonable. I think it does an amazing job of separating the juice from the pulp. The pulp comes out really dry. The first picture I was juicing pineapple; the second picture shows carrots. It comes with a strainer that you can set right on top of the container to catch the foam (such as from the pineapple) if you want. So far I have nothing negative to say about it, plus it's quiet! I make juice in large batches so the set up, clean up is not a big deal. If you were going to make one glass of juice it might be too big for what you want. The motor is heavy also. I did follow the recommendations in the manual and gave the juicer about a 30 minute rest between the 16 bags of juice I made (one rest break) I was afraid it might overheat (which the manual cautions you about). That might be a drawback for some, but it was OK for me. I also cut my fruits and veggies into recommended small pieces. I hope I get more than a year out of this juicer. I think this is an excellent product.

Best juicer I've ever owned
Im and avid juicer. This is my 4th and longest running. It never fails, easy to clean and it presses 90 %. The pulp is always dry so there's very little waste.

Writing this review to help people like me!
When I decided I wanted to buy a juicer, I began researching. There are two types -- centrifugal, and masticating. For nutrient retention, I chose masticating. I wanted to get the most juicer for the least money, so I began my quest to read Amazon reviews. I started with the good, but I also ready the bad and the ugly. I eventually found the Ventray juicer, and the first two reviews sold me on it. So did the 5 yr warranty - which is unheard of at this price point (so I'm saving you some time if you're looking based on warranties). This thing is AMAZEBALLS!!! I put it together the night I got it (took me roughly 3 minutes and part of that was rinsing off the plastic pieces in hot water). There are only 'big' pieces to assemble this juicer, and it goes together VERY easily. You can tell by the way the plastic and the augur feel (heavy, substantial) that this is a high quality juicer. That's when the fun began. I made my first juice! I put cucumbers, mint, spinach, a couple of organic carrots, a tangerine, some turmeric, some fresh ginger, a green apple, celery, and some blackberries. I cut the apple into quarters, cut the cucumber into 2-inch pieces, and I alternated the leafy stuff with the chunky stuff. This juicer is a workhorse. It is slow and steady, and it leaves very little juice behind in the pulp. There's a spout for the juice, and there is a spout for the pulp. Everything is super easy, no splatters or anything. And when it's time to clean up, that part is easy as well! A little hot water and about 3 minutes and you're done! I am super impressed with this thing. I can't recommend it enough --- it is worth every penny and then some. I am extremely, extremely happy with my choice!!

Great Tasting Juicing Machine
The juice this slow masticating juicer produces is well worth the price. The slow process ensures the best tasting juice and it is superior to the centrifugal method. All pulp is separated and comes out dry. The part that is tricky is the amount of time it takes to effectively clean this machine. There are several areas in which the remaining pulp can be hard to clean. One area is the rubber enclosure for the pulp extraction. You have a very narrow opening and only a toothpick or some very thin knife is needed to get into that limited space. If the amount of time to clean is an obstacle, then this machine is not for you. However, if you can get past the time and the effort to clean this machine, then it is a good selection and produces high quality results.

Jams Up
I really wanted to like this juicer, as there were many great reviews. It does juice quietly & slowly and the juice always tastes great. However, there are many things that frustrate me. For example, it never goes through all of the produce, there are always chunks left over inside the machine. Also, the juice is pretty thick. My old juicer made everything much smoother. Within a couple hours (as I made enough juice for the day) it gets very thick and chunky at the bottom, less juice more smoothie. Finally, the absolutely most frustrating this is that the plastic parts jam up. I'm not sure if they were made too closely in size. But they get stuck - FREQUENTLY. This morning it took about 20 minutes to finally slide everything into place and by the time I did the machine wouldn't turn on at all. Its less than a month old but just will not turn on. For a pricier machine, I thought I would get longer use.*Since writing this original review I have spent a month emailing back/forth with their customer service and its been incredibly frustrating. They automatically assumed which part was broken: the motor, which makes me think it breaks regularly. Then they sent a replacement - only they sent it with no bubble wrap so the box broke and it didn't work! Now, after a month and 1.5 machines I have requested a full refund but instead they're sending another. They haven't listened to me at all and instead insist on me keeping this product. This is the worst customer service I've experienced.
