Awesome Video Camera for the Price Range
I was skeptical when I first saw this camera but am not anymore. This thing shoots great video for the average person who wants to catch everyday video, vacations, etc. I caught it on sale and would recommend this camera to anyone looking to buy one.Pros: Lightweight, Good video, fits in your pocket, good picture quality, takes SD Cards up to 64gb.Cons: The screen is not the best to watch the videos on it is not in HD but when you put it on the big screen it looks awesome!

One of the best Cam for the price
This Handycam's biggest feature is its compatibility and size.. very easy to sync or play on TV.. The picture quality is astounding and true HD picture quality cannot be beaten for the price.I read touch screen issues in other review but haven't had any problems since i got it..3 months now.. i guess if you just get a faulty one it is possible.. but every camera or camcorder will have one in couple of thousands that has a issue.. guess I'm not the unfortunate one.The only real issue i have is that the camera is 8MP but i guess for a camcorder w/camera it is a good one.Except the MP camera works stupendously.

Nice camera BUT....
I bought his camera after being disappointed with the DISMAL software that came with a JVC HD camcorder. Understand that THE achilles heel to these HD cameras is getting the HD footage to a Disc, and right off you only have ONE choice for full HD and that's going to require a powerful computer equipped with a BluRay burner. As of this writing, the media prices for BluRay are still quite high, high enough that I'm not interested in making BluRay copies other than ONE for mastering purposes. If you think about it, Sony has pretty much succeeded in stifling the entire consumer HD market. The camera itself is compact and this is important to me for the simple reason that even the smaller palm-sitting camcorders are "large" enough that I don't want to take them. This Camileo is about the size of deck of cards when in its closed position.Battery life is surprisingly good. Good enough for at least a whole day of "on and off" use without too much worry about battery life. Not sure how long you can record on a battery but I would expect 2 hours+ is possible.Zoom feature is VERY limited, not surprising since the lens is not much larger than your typical camera phone. If you need to do a lot of zooming, this is not the camera for you.HD quality is VERY nice when the camera operator is stationary and not moving the camera much. Jitter is extensive and the "anti-shake" feature pretty much stinks. I found better results with it turned off. On a tripod the image is very impressive at 1080p. In the hand, it does seem shaky and quality degrades considerably until you are still again. The touch screen menu system is confusing and frankly very cantankerous. Should have been sent back to drawing board compared to the JVC's menu. There is a surprisingly bright LED light for those low-light situations. While there are two microphone ports, thus stereo sound, the wind really really ruins the sound quality, even with the "windcut" mode activated. Too bad no dubbing feature in the software (which pretty much sucks, more below). The software included with this Camileo is my biggest gripe! It takes HOURS to process on a powerful rig with an i7 processor and 8 gigs of ram and I have yet to record a single DVD without issues and am not going to risk an expensive BluRay disc until I'm confident that this software is even capable of working as it should. Shame on you Toshiba for not including a well-programmed application that can take the footage and RELIABLY burn to DVD/BluRay. I have not called any technical support but at the pricepoint for this camera its frankly not worth my time.At $99 I feel I got a nice HD camcorder but I don't yet have a way to transfer my footage to a media to archive it (besides the SD card). This fact alone makes the usefulness of this camera very questionable. I will update when I find a solution but it appears it will be outside of Toshiba. The software that I hate with the JVC will at least complete an operation. Camileo is batting zero. Toshiba should make a working update of the software available for Camileo owners for download ASAP.

Excellent good quality camcorder
I've used this camera for over 14,000 outdoor photos and videos and still working perfectly! It's cost and features are modest, but photos and videos are of very good quality, although it is not so good for indoor photos or close-ups as they tend to blur. Battery stays charged for a long time. I will buy another Toshiba camcorder if this one ever poops out!

Toshiba Camileo S30 - stay away from this one!
It's a very nice camera and shoots excellent videos. Even with the tripod, it does not take very good still pictures. They are blurry and out of focus no matter what adjustments are made. The CD that came with this video camera has nothing at all to do with the download. My computer doesn't recognize the device at all. There is no way to download the videos from this camera on to my laptop. Once I retrieved this from the person I gave it to, I am so disappointed that I can't share these videos. This camera is totally overpriced and user unfriendly. I went to visit the great guys at my local electronic store, they couldn't figure out how to make this work either. Unfortunately, I now have some irreplacable videos on this camera that I'd hate to lose. This was sent as a gift via Ensenda. It was left outside the backdoor in the rain, sitting in a puddle. Luckily the camera itself was wrapped in plastic, and works. However, if she needs to return it for any reason, the original packaging was completely disintegrated and the instructions were ruined. The screen door was open and the package could have been left between doors rather than in the elements. I would caution against using this service in the future. Charge more for shipping instead of using third rate carriers.
