Another favorite!
My son loves ALL the Sara Varon books and this one was no exception! The illustrations are super fun and the comic book/graphic novel style is perfect for holding a young reader's attention.

Odd Duck---a refreshing joy
I rated Odd Duck with 5 stars because I feel that the story brings a much-needed message. These two ducks find their way through a negative viewpoint or two, instigated by a comment they overhear, and discover that their differentness will not end their friendship. They value one another and realize that there is room for more than one viewpoint. The illustrations are great, adding so much to the story. I would recommend this book to anyone, since the fresh, breezy illustratiions carry the story along and points are made in an easy, humorous way.

Funny and cute story
Love Varon's illustrations, and the sweet and meaningful story that makes one realize we're all a little bit odd -- and that's okay!

I have added this to the 2 Seuss books I normally give all pregnant friends as part of the shower gift. I have no higher praise.

Odd Duck
My 3 year old absolutely loves this book and so do I. A book that shows its okay to be a little different than the others. I love the artwork and the story. One of those books that parents enjoy as much as kids.

Wonderful story, incredibly funny and smart
This is one of those books that you and your child can grow with. Even though my child can't understand all the words and concepts in this surprisingly dense book, she can appreciate the art and the voices we do for different characters. As she grows, she'll be able to better understand the relationship between the ducks and the neat little 'hidden' gems in each panel. Just a wonderful achievement that both you and your child will be able to enjoy together.

Odd-dorable
I really, really enjoy this book; so does my son (he's 5 1/2 but has strong reading skills, so he likes books that are a bit more wordy). Theodora and Chad's friendship is heartwarmingly realistic, as is the unintentionally cruel gossip from the supporting characters. The book includes a kind of craft; there's a page that you're meant to photocopy so you can cut out tags for tea bags and staple them to your own tea bag tags, to make tea just like Theodora drinks in the book. My only complaint is that she leaves the damn bag in the entire time, and my boy doesn't like it that strong, so it kind of spoils the fun a bit. But otherwise the craft, along with the rest of the book, was a big hit at our place.
