giving thanks, a daily practice
The practice of giving thanks is beautifully and simply illustrated and our family passes this book around to share the reading and talk about gratitude at our Thanksgiving table. Then we share our own thanks in our lives. Very simple and deep and creates a core message about Thanksgiving.

Helping our son with gratitude
This has been an excellent tool in our toolbox for teaching gratitude outside the take-take system of our current “culture.”

BEAUTIFUL 😍
This book does a wonderful job of telling the Thanksgiving address in a way that children can understand and enjoy. We read it together and then watched the reading of the book on YouTube and they loved seeing the pictures become animated!

Beautiful message and illustrations!
This is a beautiful message and mantra to begin each day with, for your child and for yourself! Illustrations are truly beautiful. My 18mo son loves the pictures of the animals, and the lightning, and of course the berries! I'm a fan of the fire and starlit dew drops pages. This is the kind of Thanksgiving ritual I want my children to have, and it can be repeated everyday!

we love it!
i bought this book for our family to read as my daughter began studying native american culture in 2nd grade. i especially liked it, as i am quite fond of the topic of gratitude and i have been fortunate to participate in a number of native american traditions and rituals over the years. so, this book provided me with an opportunity to do my favorite thing - tell my children stories about the time that i ... well, this book is beautifully illustrated and masterfully written for young children to better understand native american culture. the values of tradition, honor, respect, faith are consonant with all cultures and traditions and this makes a nice adjunct for anyone with other beliefs who wishes to better understand this tradition. as such, the one reviewer who gave this a "3" ought to be separated in the mind of the review-reviewer who sees a dozen "5" stars and a single "3". this is worthy of an A+ and it comes highly recommended!!!

Beautiful
This is a beautiful book. I'm a teacher and use this during the month of November. It went great with teaching about being thankful. I'm a kinder teacher and they were easily able to understand. Perfect for primary students . Loved that it taught about things in nature

Great summary of the Iroquois nations' Thanksgiving Address
Great for teachers to introduce native culture. The Thanksgiving Address is given at the start of every important gathering, meeting or ceremony. It reminds us of how important all the elements of nature are. The words are very concise but kids can augment it with their own ideas. The illustrations are gorgeous.

Fantastic idea, well realized
We are working on teaching our children about gratitude and acknowledging the source of all our gifts. This book is a great help in developing that habit within our family! We love it.
