We did a couple sessions with me hitting balls to her, but I spent so much time chasing them down that she didn't have enough time to get comfortable. Hit two balls. Chase. Hit two balls. Chase. With the Speedfeed I can move around and give my wife the repetitive practice she needs to develop a good swing.The actual device is light and comes out of the box ready to go. The box arrived. We got it out. And we were playing 10 minutes later. Holds 23 balls with good mobility and quick access.The ball loading point is easy to reach so you can load the 23 balls quickly. It is also in a position where my students can load me up while I am still instructing other players in the group.Definitely a TIME saver and a BACK saver!Balls drop naturally to the feed point as I move about the court.CONSVery brittle "prototype" plastic....although thick, so I'm hoping it will hold up....we will see after I put it through it's paces.Some of the clips holding the plastic form together came broken but there were enough still intact to keep the unit together. It will likely take some screws or duct tape to hold it together at some point. (I'm a coach AND a dad so no shame)The ball feed opening is VERY rough if not somewhat SHARP as another reviewer noted. Clearly came straight off the mold and tooling machines and went straight to the box without a finishing process....sharp edges and some burrs left behind. I used some flat and half round files, finishing with a fine grit sandpaper to shape the edges to a smooth rounded finish...feels and works great after that modification. (I really just finished the job that should have been done by the manufacturer).SUGGESTIONS TO THE MANUFACTURERTest it extensively with critical users ...not just friends.The ball feed position is somewhat awkward. Likely okay for a casual user but for 100s of reps as a coach, it is bound to create some repetitive stress on the shoulder since the feed opening is slightly behind the users body and requires a firm sideways action to pull the ball out. It creates an unnatural motion. To remedy, the feed opening should point downward rather than sideways for a more ergonomic motion. The way it is constructed, the user has to use a pulling motion moving outward from BEHIND the hip directly to the side. Like a weird lateral dumbell raise. With the starting point being slightly behind the body, it creates that unnatural movement.The shoulder straps do the job ok, but a chest strap to keep the unit a bit more stable while moving about would be ideal. A bit of padding wouldn't hurt either....I hear you on keeping costs down but it gets to the point of feeling cheap....NOT "low cost", just CHEAP...to the point one questions the $40 price point.I added a chest strap to mine from and old backpack and it works great....may just change out the straps entirely.BOTTOM LINE:I LOVE the concept and find it worth the $40 (primarily because of the concept since there is probably $3 worth of materials at wholesale and maybe $10 worth at retail)I will likely buy another one, warts and all, for my coaching parnter. (And will modify that one as well)Like the other user said.
