Ancient Wisdom, Modern Health
This book and its content is an invaluable gift from the Tibetan masters to the modern world. Master Tenzing Wangyal Rinpoche has immaculately explained the ancient Tibetan wisdom of sound healing through this book and the CD attached to it. Modern science has taught us to be rational and to believe in the things that we could see and touch. Causes of disease or sickness are always attributed to external factors. Medicine, pills and injection are prescribed as an antidote to the disease. Modern science has greatly helped the humanity in providing the required medicine in healing our disease. But this healing has been limited to physical only. In the good old days, people lived healthily without the benefit of modern science and its gadgets. Our forefathers looked inside to maintain proper mental and physical health. Emphasis is laid on the internal spiritual health. This book is about healing and maintaining our health through the application of sacred sound along with the rTsa rLung [Channel and wind] exercise. The six sacred warrior syllables are: Aa, Om, Hung, Ram, dZa.These six sacred sounds are called warrior because like a warrior they can eliminate and destroy the blocks and negativities within ourselves. The practice involves meditation, and application of specific sound at the Chakras to clear the blocks and make space for positive energy. We all wish for good things and wants happiness, but we fail to make space inside for the good and happy things to come and settle. Each warrior syllables act on the specific chakra on the channel to bring positive vibration and energy. White Aa syllable at the crown chakra is associated with space; the analogy is clear desert sky. Red Om syllable at the throat chakra discovers the awareness within that space. Blue Hung syllable at the heart chakra is the union of space and awareness. Red Ram syllable represent the ripening of the positive quality. Green dZa syllable is the place of manifestation. In a nutshell, these five chakras represent: space, awareness, energy, growth and attainment. With this practice of six warrior sound syllables along with the meditation, we are assured of good internal as well as external health. With the six warrior syllables as main, the book also enumerates the five important rTsa rLung exercises to cleanse ourselves of negative emotions and replace it positive emotion and good health. These exercises are rTsa rLung exercise of: Upward movement, life-force, fire-like, pervasive and downward movement. These exercises and meditation can also be seen as important path and method toward effective understanding and practice of dZogchen teaching. This is a simple but very valuable book to discover the space within ourselves to live healthily and positively.

Essential
Takes you where you need to be in singing bowl Tibetan Buddhism. Sound, as we know does affect us not only in what we desire but also in what we do not. The book is modern English so no worries of the pronunciation and forming the essential letters and words. Singing bowls for some need rain or canned water flowing, but why? The tone and resonance of each bowl or cymbal does effect us in ways we are sometimes not prepared.TIBETAN SOUND HEALING, prepares us in how each tonal shift affects the energy upon needs known and not known. You learn. And this is what breaths life into the path of the bodhisattva. Listen to singing bowls selections on YouTube to understand. Of the very many I try to avoid the rain, wind, stream, daze emissions. Look for what is pure. One in particular was the thick, elemental symbols engraved cymbals were gently drawn together in increasing strength such that I was mesmerized and given a broad sense of what being in the moment, the now, and becoming in the steady hum of the metals slowly dissolving into the mind. This is what healing is.Great book. Read and understand how the Holy Spirit moves among and unites us. Remove the mass of negative energy and anger that is popular today. Bring life to love. There is much to learn, teacher sound student become indistinguishable. Buddhism is not atheistic. The Gautama Buddha found explanation of the Divine, of God, as being outside our abilities in language. God is accepted as the essence of being. Sound therapy, singing bowl meditation is part of the great song of life. Life given us by God. Suffering also. Seek transformation inside these harmonics as a part of the great links of being.

Simple and effective meditation techniques
This book and accompanying CD are excellent.- The authors voice is very soothing (I have a number of meditation CD's that I can't listen to because the authors tone is grating).- The sound meditations are very powerful and easy to do. Note that it's more helpful to chant/sing along, but you can listen and still receive some benefit (in my opinion anyways).- This CD is very similar to Wayne Dyer's Meditations for Manifesting. If you like Tibetan Sound Healing you may wish to check out Dr. Dyer's.- When I think of healing CD's, I usually think of physical healing and the usual imagery/affirmations. Note that this CD is more general. You can choose something physical to meditate on or something like emotional pain, or other non-physical issues, relationship problems, etc.I'll close by saying that Rinpoche nailed me in the first chapter. I'm a dabbler. I like to read about meditation, yoga, tai chi, qigong, etc, but never actually practice any of them. He comments on this directly and after reading the first chapter I felt that this was something special.

A classic must-read for spiritual seekers
I read this book for the first time about 20 years ago in my youth, and the knowledge I gained was life changing to me even then. Time passed and I forgot a few of the things the book taught me, but I was reminded of it while dealing with a major obstacle in my life recently. I remembered how the "ah" syllable, the "remover of obstacles", used to so powerfully clear obstacles and open space in my life, to the point of clearing actual physical, literal space when I was younger, so I returned to it and the book to remind me of the process. And it all makes so much more sense now after having lived for 20 years longer and learning everything I've learned about the true nature of reality, about space and awareness...now I'm ready to experience the power of all 5 syllables lole never before! The student is ready and the teacher has appeared AGAIN. I highly recommend spiritual seekers read this book and see for yourselves the miraculous changes that these sounds can bring about in your life and spiritual experience!

I find the sounds liberating - easy to do - uplifting and a great start to the day. They help to energise the body, mind and spirit and set everyday life into perspective.

this is one of the best meditations i've done.
i truthfully dont believe in the meanings of "seed syllables' they write up- lots just seems like nonsense that SAID - the tonal meditation set off tingles and electrical charges ( my nervous system) clearly was reacting to it.never had that happen before.
