Mountaintop of Marriage: A Vision Retreat Guidebook Ring-bound – January 1, 2008

This is such a great book. My husband and I used it on a mini vacation. Its very easy to use and understand. It really makes you think and plan. Prayer is a must before beginning though. My one complaint that I have is that there could be more space to write your answers on. There were a few times we didn't have enough room. We haven't finished the book and will continue to work on it in our prayer times together. Like they say, you wouldn't begin a business without a business plan so why begin a marriage without a vision. It just puts you both on the same page. Highly recommend for every married couple and it will become a wedding gift for every wedding I go to as well as the Marriage on the Rock DVDs.

I was blessed to see Jimmy at a Marriage conference at my church when I was engaged. Because of that my fiancé and I did his Marriage on the Rock bible study and as soon as we were married had our retreat and worked through the Mountaintop Marriage guidebook. I believe this is a great resource for any marriage, new or old. You plan a vision for your next year of marriage outlining your goals and plans throughout the year. It makes sense; we plan strategically for everything else in life why not our most important relationship! I would also recommend his Marriage on the Rock bible study and looking up some of his videos on YouTube. Go see him speak if you get the chance!

EXCELLENT RESOURCE!!! We each had our own guidebook and used them over the last several days. We took vacation time went out of town and had time alone with God and each other. We wanted God's vision for our marriage and life over the next 12 months. We plan to do this once a year. Knowing that we agree with each other on God's purpose for us the next 12 months is refreshing and gives us both the energy we need to do what Christ Jesus has called us to do. My husband and I benefitted a great deal from going through this guide together. We will continue to do so for many years to come. However, I do think that it is overpriced for what you get. It's cheap quality, and many pages are just blank for notes and calendar entries. It would be better to download a pdf of the questions at a reduced cost.

My husband was reluctant. BUT once we began he was amazed at how the focus really helped us. We are doing it again this year. We bought a separate journal to add to over the years and keep this as our master. Focus is key. A house divided against itself cannot stand. This will really help you to organize and put on the table your foundation and understand each other on new levels!

My wife and I wanted to go on our first vision retreat and this book helped us a lot. It is simple and well put together. Having the kindle version is a bit if a hassle since this is a workbook. However is worth the money and the time.

I am gifting this to a married couple, along with a two nights at a marvelous Bed & Breakfast Inn on a very rural setting.Just what a couple needs to get them started planning, very intentionally, how they want their marriage and family to take shape in a positive way.
