It's wonderful for a beginner or more, pictures are perfect and easy to follow. Would be a nice gift for a friend to start having fun.

This is a gorgeous book and I learned a lot just by reading, but it uses the "sew" method rather than the "stab" method, and for some reason I just can't do the sew method...I guess I'm too set in my ways! That being said I would still definitely recommend this book.Photo is NOT from the book but the stitches I used ARE.

This is a great reference tool with clear directions. The projects could have been a little more imaginative.

Just got this book today. I must say I was surprised that there were actual pictures beside each stitch instruction. The book is very easy to read and seems easy to follow. I am elated to try all stitches and projects in this book.

This is full of different types of stitches. Very useful in understanding so many.

I'm a sucker for stitch dictionary books, no matter the craft, which is why I purchased this book just based on a few pictures. It promised 250 stitches and projects! Thing is, this book is lovely to look at, as are most of the projects, but the directions, and the so called "step by step" instructions are lacking. I'm sure the stitch dictionary part of the book is adequate, although I bet there are books that are much better (Embroidery: A Step-by-Step Guide to More than 200 Stitches, for example, is fantastic). The problem is that the templates and diagrams are uneven in quality. There are no instructions on how much to enlarge the diagrams for example. Some very elaborate designs are crammed in half a page (see the Cloud Bag, Night in China Pillow). Some are vague (see Framed Herbarium). And Alphabet Decor, a cross-stitch alphabet sampler only includes the grids for 3 letters! Although there is a photo of a sampler showing all 26! Finally, there are 2 pages on punch needle, which could have easily been cut. There are no photos of the technique, or the project. Just 2 drawings of the tool.It's obvious that this book is a compendium of the work of many different artists, and I imagine it was tough to include all of the projects and still stay under a certain number of projects, but fewer projects with more complete instructions would have been better.This books is definitely pretty to look at, and it includes stitches that I've never seen before, so I can recommend it. And the projects are current and modern. But step by step instructions, not so much, unless you are ok with winging it.

Have a big project I will complete with the help of this book. Its amount of stitches vast, however, it is not arranged likeI would have done it. I am sure those I need won't be hard to find.

It took a while to get here but was worth the wait!!!!

Achei muito simples, para ter o o título de "O GRANDE ou O MAIOR LIVRO DE BORDADOS".Fiquei decepcionada, mas não posso dizer que é ruim, somente que esperava mais do que ele oferece.Afinal, tenho mais de 60 livros de bordados comprados com a AMAZON, no quesito BORDADOS.
