works as advertised, can use with booties
These do the job perfectly for snorkeling. My foot size is Men's US9 so I bought the large ones in order to use size small booties with it. It worked, but it's a tad bit snug. The straps are pretty sturdy, however the buckles are all plastic--including the attachment to the fin, so i don't have a lot of confidence in them lasting --although i've used them on 10 outings so far without a problem. Some reviews complain about the buckle allowing the strap to come loose during use, but I've not had that problem. Also, the large ones fit well enough without booties on a US9 foot as well (with the straps totally tightened down the the max). PS. if not using booties, at least use some socks, that goes for any fins in general. (any normal nylon socks will do) I know it seems weird at first, but you'll thank me later -- it eliminates all chafing.

Warning: Returning item IS NOT FREE
Bought these for pre-teen grandson. Fins much longer than we realized. They were just too big for him so we're returning. Really like Cressi products but very disappointed in steep $$ return price. Must be returned via UPS. Ugh. Did not see that in details when I purchased initially. No future online purchases expected with this return policy.

A Little Stiff but Good
I really miss my fish fins I bought in 1985 from Sharper Image. They were incredibly comfortable, and folded in a bit on the back swing, snapping open on the up swing like fish fins do, so they didn't stir up the bottom. They were in my truck when it was stolen a few months ago. (I live in Hawaii, so they got a LOT of use, and were still going strong after 36 years!) These fins are not as comfortable, but okay, and they work fine. They are more work to use, but I'll get used to them. The strap seems sturdy, easy to adjust. I wish the part under my foot came back more, it stops at the back of my arch. I think if it were longer, the stroke would be a little easier and it would protect my feet better. Overall, good value for the price.

Longer than I am used to.
Normally I use a shorter fin designed for travel... takes less space in luggage. Recently I bought these longer fins to get more distance with each kick... which I do get. However, they also cause cramping in the bottoms of my feet... something that I never experienced before with the shorter fin. I definitely prefer the shorter fin for comfort. I guess it's a learning process.

No snorkeling experience and no regrets buying these.
We were heading to the Dominican for a week, so I was looking for pack-able fins. This was my first time using fins, so I do not have anything to compare my experience to. I am normally a size 14/15 shoe, so I took a chance and ordered the L-XL. I was originally sent the M-L, which had no chance! With less than a week before our trip, I received the correct size. I simply used them for snorkeling, to watch fish and explore the small reefs within the designated swimming area. I was no deeper than 15 feet and the longest I had these fins on was about 45 minutes. They were a bit tight, but comfortable. I did not use any sort of lubricant and I always put them on while in the water. I did have some mild discomfort across the top of my foot, near the end of my longest use. I was surprised by the added "drive" when compared to swimming without these fins. I also bought the Cressi 3-Window Mask and Dry Snorkel set (also reviewed). For the price, these fins definitely made my first snorkeling experience enjoyable.

Love everything about them
Okay, I can't quite love the fit, but that's because of my tiny, skinny feet, not the fins. This strap at the heel is adjustable enough to compensate for the width that can't be changed. No blisters on my toes, either. I swim laps in a saltwater pool, but even though they were designed for snorkeling, they work well for my purposes. Best of all, I love the flexible flow of the blades as I swim, while still enjoying the challenge these longer blades give to my legs. These things really move the water!

Great fins, but...
I really love the way these fins look, feel, and how they help me glide through the water MUCH easier than my previous fins. However, the strap in the back is very annoying to me. I have to constantly pull it back up into place, which obviously isn't ideal. One time during a dive, the fin completely came off because the strap slipped down past the back of my heel. What I'll do now is actually just replace the straps so I can continue to enjoy these great fins, because other than that, I really do like them. They just need a better strap.

Very Good
If you find this review useful, please click the little "yes" button below. The Cressi Palau Fins are small, probably 2/3 or maybe even 1/2 the size of 'standard' snorkelling/scuba fins. But, they're surprisingly good.I bought these fins for my 16-year old daughter who was planning on learning to dive during the summer. I wanted some relatively inexpensive, but resasonably high quality fins that she could use during the diving course. These turned out to be a great investment. Not only did they survive the course, but we carried on using them afterwards for general snorkeling. At the time of writing, the fins are probably 6 months old and have been used dozens of times - and never with any issues. One thing worth thinking about. Although the reduced size of the fins means that you get less kicking power, it does make them much easier to use for a beginner. For someone just learning to dive, full-size fins can seem a bit unwieldy. These are very easy to deal with. In terms of loss of power, I used them myself on a couple of occasions, just to see what they're like. I found them to be perfectly usable. In fact for snorkeling, I preferred them over my own (expensive) full-size fins.

Pinne
