VeriFone VX 520 Dual Com 160 Mb Credit Card Machine, EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) and NFC (Near Field Communication) or Contactless, Dial Up and Internet Connectivity

This upgrade was required by my merchant provider at a cost of about $300. I found it here for $150. My merchant provider told me that I HAD to use theirs but they would reduce their price. I changed merchant providers and my new provider was concerned that my machine would be locked. It was not and it was relatively easy to program over the phone. Works fine and saved me money.

I needed a wireless unit. For some reason customer service had a difficult time setting it up and it still was not set up after several hours of programming. I decided to return it and it is cheaper for a mobile device. I hope I get reimbursed readily.

Did not work with my processor and had been told that it would. This company just wants you to process with themes waste of money. I tried to work with them for some kind of a refund and they wouldn’t work with me.

The machine itself is absolutely great! Everything works smoothly and haven't had a problem with making any transactions or anything. The reason I give them 4/5 stars is because the machine itself was sent to me locked. The seller should mention this in the description. I wasted probably a total of 24 hours of my life just on hold with my bank trying to download the software multiple times. Until the 5th time I tried to download the software again, the lady told me my machine might be locked because it would run through the software and say "failed, downloaded needed."When I knew it was locked, I contacted the seller, and he immediately replied. Very good customer service and very quick as well. It was an easy process and only took about 5 minutes to unlock the terminal. I would give the product a 5/5 review, but the fact that the machine comes locked and how that wasn't mentioned at all, I give it 4/5.

First of all, the machine I received is either brand new or at least appears in mint condition. It was unlocked and my merchant service company had it set up - well, they talked me through it so basically I set it up - in a thirty minute rather complex step-by-step process, but this is a process of the merchant service, not the machine. It is easy to use and accepts chip cards, swipes and keyed-in numbers. Now if it could only bring me customers.

Several videos on Youtube, but details were hard to follow, as I am used to plug and play.....Will have to go back and rewatch them in order to set up the machine. Did not have time to do it before the event that I bought it for.

Great credit card processing unit. Works great with my Chase Paymentech account for a fraction of the price they wanted for the exact same unit. Was upset when Chase Paymentech told me my old VeriFone unit was no longer supported and would not be PCI compliant, even though it had a chip reader on it that they never made software for to support it.

Be very careful to get a current model. The serial numbers on my machine were from 2010. The credit card companyalmost wouldn't give me the download, because the serial number was so old. The instruction manuel was also dated2010. Scary.
