This is a great pen sized flood light not a spot light
This is a great rechargeable penlight at this price point. It is important to define the type of light source you need i.e.: floodlight, spotlight, defused, ambient light.Floodlights illuminate a large area/space with light. Some handheld Floodlights will illuminate your whole yard, sort of like when the streetlights turn on, or a flash on your camera.Spotlights illuminate a more focal area with light and will cast light to a distance. Casting light is known as 'throw'. Spotlights are for focused illumination, not areawide illumination. Think search and rescue, sighting lights on pistols/rifles, or looking for relevant objectives at a distance. Spots will have a deeper convex reflector, which means more of a cup'cup' where the light source sets.Defused light is just like a light bulb, candle, or a lantern. It casts a wide light into the immediate area. It is unfocused and glowing. Think of a campfire and the glowing area of light that surrounds it.Ambient light is the light that bounces off of surfaces. Ambient light can be everywhere at once. Ambient light illuminates, does not focus. Think full moon night and fresh snow. You can see for miles in the dark. You can't pick out specifics. The NEBO Rechargeable Pen Light is slim form factor, rechargeable, floodlight. It excels in this area. It is about an inch longer than a writing pen and will fit in your shirt/jacket/back pocket easily. It does focus but has limited throw. Good for close-up wide-angle inspections in low light levels. There is no one size fits all flashlight at this price point, choose the one you need relevant to its intended purpose and cost. This light rocks on a lot of fronts. You will not find a better waterproof, durable, rechargeable, small flood, with focus for the price.

Dropped into a mudded water drain for 2 1/2 days
I have been using this light for about 8 months now I am mechanic and had dropped this flashlight into a drainage accidentally while I was topping up some fluids within my engine bay. I put the flashlight in my pocket and it fell through a hole and lodged itself in some mud and moving water. I had a retractable magnet that it did not magnetize to, I was stumped and flustered. It was already getting dark and i did not have any other proper tools to pull the drain up and reach for it. Nor did I have a snake, or some sort of wire to make shift into a rescue harness for me to bring it up with. Fast forward two days, knowing I could reach it if I tried. I had found an old clothes hanger wire, and drove back the 25min distance away from where i lived to where I thought the flashlight's final resting place was going to be. It was still there, so I proceeded to make shift the wire into a spring like fixture. Enough for it drill into the mud with keeping the flashlight within the spring and hoist it up. It worked, I pulled it out and brought it home. I gave it a good heated parts wash and some bleach and it is still bright as I first bought it. I would definitely buy this flashlight again time and time again. I lifted the it out of the drain 9/26/23 and bought the flashlight 01/06/23, used daily for work, and all other needs and etc.It is a bright flashlight and does fit in your pocket, I love this thing and I just could not let it go. It is very durable and I almost bought another if I did not get my original one back. This light is worth every dollar and more, I was even looking into the other flashlights that they do sell, I might just buy a few. Get this light, do not hesitate or waste your time and money on anything other than this light.

The NEBO Inspector RC
Let me just start off by saying this is a great little light! I've only had this light for about a week, but I've owned many a small pocket lights over the years and this is one of the best I've tried! It's got a pretty good anodizing and a very strong body, I dont feel like I need to worry if I drop this from head hight (I'm 6'4") onto concrete. It feels very strong, as does the pocket clip. The clip is fairly long, so I dont feel like I gotta keep checking to make sure I still have it. The clip is removable, which is pretty easy to do. Now that doesn't mean that it will just come off at any moment, it has a very good hold of the light, it doesn't swivel around unnecessarily or feel loose by any means. The light has O ring seals that provide the water proof rating of IP67. They are numerous, with one in the head of the light along with two protecting the micro USB charging port. There are also two O ring seals on the tail cap switch protecting the battery compartment. Which already has a rechargeable battery installed from the factory. Even though it touts rechargeabilty, it will also run off a pair of any standard AAA batteries too, making it quite the versatile little light. The tail cap switch is exposed which can be down side to some, but I feel the the pressure needed to activate the light negates that enough that I dont feel like I need to worry about wasting power unnecessarily. The switch is quite nice, actually it's my favorite thing about the light. It's a really good rubber, it doesn't feel like it'll wear out anytime soon, that also goes for the actual switch underneath. The switch just tacky enough that I'm not gonna slip trying to use it. The little embossed NEBO logo on the switch helps with that as well. It does have momentary with a half push of the switch, which allows you to much more quickly cycle through the three settings. Now that we got all the bells and whistles out of the way, let's talk about what we're all here for... The light! The manufacturer claims it is rated at 360 lumens, which seems about right. Now according to the NEBO website, the light is capable of 360 lumens on HIGH, 120 for LOW and 360 for the STROBE feature. According to the NEBO website, those figures are with the rechargeable battery. Unfortunately the website also says that the light will have lower output with AAA batteries, coming in at just 100 lumens on HIGH. But personally, I'd just buy a couple more rechargeable lipo batteries to have on hand. They're super cheap these days anyways. The light also has what NEBO calls a 4x zoom lens. What this means is that you are able to rotate the head of the flashlight from a wide beam of light (floodlight) to a small beam of bright concentrated light (spotlight). The twist function is simple and intuitive. NEBO claims that the Inspector RC is capable of throwing light out to 125m/410ft (no candela info available).Alright now it's time to talk about the things nobody wants to, but matter most... The negatives! So my biggest gripe is that the light absolutely does not reach out to 125m. Sure the light throws fairly far, but you run out of useable light at about 30m. That's a pretty big difference from the factory's claims... Now that doesn't mean that the light is trash. It's actually quite the opposite, it really is a very good light, just not at any real distance. But with the claims they made about the distance of the beam being pretty unrealistic, that was a pretty big bummer. I like my edc pocket light to be able to reach out into the dark. Since we're talking about the the beam power at distance, let's talk about that 4x zoom... Now I'm just gonna start this bit by saying I've never really been a fan of those focus-able lenses. They never really hold up to my level of reliability. This one isn't too much different. To be honest, I'd rather do away with the focus-abilty on this light, I like it better without it. The light is just much more usable in the wide "floodlight" focusing. When used in the "spotlight" focusing, it just leaves a lot to be desired with both the strength of the light and the useable distance. My only other negative I have and it's really just a small one... The pocket clip is a little bit too flush with the body of the light. I wish it was just a little bit more substantial in what it will clip over without deforming. I wear 5.11 pants everyday, they have an extra bit of fabric laid over the pockets where most people keep their pocket knives to protect the pants from the knives clips. It didn't really fit over my pocket very well, but I'll be the first to admit, it's a pretty minor complaint and most people likely won't have this issue. My final word?Buy it!It's a great little light that will absolutely meet most people's needs for a small pocket friendly light.INSPECTOR RC SPECSSIZEMax Length - 6.5inDiameter - 0.7inPOWERRechargeable battery,High - 360 lumens - 1 hourLow - 120 lumens - 3 hoursStrobe - 360 lumens - 25 minsAAA batteries,High - 100 lumens - 1 hourLow - 30 lumens - 4 hoursStrobe - 100 lumens - 25 minsBATTERY10850 rechargeable lipoAAA batteriesRECHARGEABLEMicro USB (cable included)WATERPROOFIP67 rated
