Strong and easy to handle
I used this line on four salmon trips in September out of Westport, Wa. The charter skippers were great at finding salmon, and when I hooked fish, this line just did its job and never gave me a concern. I used the 20 lb. clear line. It easily handled the 8-12 lb. Coho we were lucky to find and catch. It's rather nicely limp and smooth in the reel, and it cooperates when you tie knots. If you need monofilament, this is a good choice.

Excellent for Walleye
I use Berkley Trilene Big Game Monofilament (20lb. test) when fishing for walleye from shore on the Missouri river in North Dakota. Conditions are very tough on fishing line because you have to drag through various obstacles such as rocks, weeds, willow trees, etc. This line does the job as well as can be expected under these conditions and it will take a lot of damage without snapping. It does get more "memory" than some other monofilament lines I've used, but nothing so bad as to prevent me from continuing to use it. I use this line on spinning and spincasting reels without any problems. The last walleye I caught in 2010 was just over 10 lbs. and I was glad I had Big Game on my reel.Update: 2011-09-25**********************I like this line so well I bought two more spools.Update: 2015-05-07***********************I still continue to use this line on my reels. Also, I remembered that I took a picture of the fish I caught on the last day of fishing back in 2010 and decided to upload it so that people know I meant it when I said I caught a 10-pound walleye on this fishing line.

Great line....Great price
Line is pretty decent. The only reason it isn't getting 5 stars is because of the memory. The memory is ok which is bad, when you get tiny tangles it tends to stay I n the shape of the tingle which can cause even more tangles. Diameter is pretty thin for 30# and the strength is deffinately there! good line overall.

Strong, uniform and reliable
I bought the 10 pound test for use with my Pflueger President XT Spinning Reel and Abu Garcia 1-Piece Vendetta Series Spinning Rod . I found that the Big Game mono was a great deal. For the money, you can't beat the quality and uniformity.

Excellent Line
I've been using Berkley line for as long as I can remember. Its always held up well and the knots stay tied. Of course with large line like this Big Game version you'll need to use a wire leader. Don't blame the line if you don't. As with all fishing line you'll need to change it out once in a while, depending on how often you fish. It's also a good idea to give it a good rinse with fresh water after each use. The green tint on this version is great for the Gulf of Mexico, making it totally invisible.Highly recommended.

Dont bother with anything else
Been fishing 45 years in bass clubs and steelhead /salmon fishing. Have never reviewed a product in my life but this line merits a review. This line has always been my go to line but recently tried other lines such as P-line and Maxima. My reels are re-spooled with Big Game. The p-line is strong but not nearly enough stretch for absorbing the shock when fighting a big steelhead or salmon. Have have good luck with the Maxima on level winds but put some on a spinning reel and the memory is terrible. Plus the Big Game is cheap!!!. Could go on and on but you get the picture.

8lbs test clear mono.
This is probably some of the best fishing line out there, when accounting for the price range and the quality of product you get. I spool up all my reels with varying line strengths of this product and have yet to be disappointed. From salt to freshwater this line has proven itself for me.

I purchased this for my survival bag. You can fish with it and you can use it for basic cordage. Win Win
