🚴♂️ Elevate Your Ride with the Ultimate 9-Speed Chain!
The WippermannConnex 9sX 9-speed chain features 114 links, designed for compatibility with all road and MTB 9-speed systems. Its stainless steel inner plates and nickel-coated outer plates ensure durability, while the Connex link allows for easy, tool-free disassembly. Weighing only 290 grams, this chain is perfect for performance-driven cyclists.

Durable, reasonably light and long lasting. Looks good, too.
I ride 3 to 5k miles a year in rural New England on pavement and gravel. Maybe a quarter of that riding is in wet, slushy conditions with plenty of sand and road salt thrown in, yet I've never seen any rust or corrosion on these chains, and they clean up bright and sliver like new with very little effort. The Connex link is reusable and easy to operate, so when the chain looks dirty or starts getting noisy, I remove it and let it soak for a few hours or overnight in Simple Green. Rinse it in water, let it dry and lube it (Boeshield). I got around 5k miles each out of my last 2. Shifts are smooth and consistent with my Dura Ace 9 speed RD and Ultegra 12-27 cassette. BTW, I replaced the cassette as well when I installed this chain--I find cassette wear hard to assess, but I think >10k miles is a reasonable lifespan. New chain and cassette work beautifully together.Edit: 7/28/18: Set up another bike with identical drivetrain except I used a KMC 9.99 chain to save money (about 1/2 the price). To my surprise the KMC shifts noticeably better and runs quieter. I don't know if it will last as long yet, but when my current Wipperman wears out, I'll replace with a KMC, probably the 9SL since it's 35 grams lighter than the W.

Best chain for Ebike reliability
This chain proves all the claims about the durability of stainless steel chains being the best for an Ebike. I have built a Bafang HD mountain bike. and have just reached 1000 miles in very hilly territory. I weigh 230 and the bike with me goes 290+ lbs. My most common route is 17 miles with 2200 vertical feet of climbing. Need I say any more? Highly recommended!

Best commuter/touring chain ever made
I use this chain on my commuter and road bikes (10 speed version on the RB) and have been using them for about 6 years. My commute is multi-modal with my bike on the back of a high speed ferry every day. So salt sprays on my bike and drivetrain every time I commute. Everything that can corrode, like ferrules and steel attachment bolts do corrode. This chain has not. I wipe it dry and re-lube about once a month and I think I've gotten almost 10k - 12k miles of use from each Wipperman chain I've used. Cassettes seem to wear at the same rate, so you'll always have to replace them together. Smooth shifts, long lasting and looks good too, you'll never make a better drivetrain decision than this one.

I can buy 7 chains for what this costs. Not sure if it is really worth it.
Wipperman has quite a reputation behind it. The chain is pretty good quality, however... the nickel/chrome plating gets worn off the outer link plates after a thousand miles or so, which makes it look kinda crappy. After spending $75 on a chain you'd hope it would wear better? It also just costs too damn much for what it is.I've since switched to (KMC X8.93 the 8-speed model number, but the 9 speed (X9.99) is identical.) You can buy SEVEN of those chains for the price of one of these. So even if it maybe lasts 20-30% longer (which I am not sure it does, yet, still have yet to wear it out to say with confidence), you still are better off buying the cheaper KMC which has similar shifting performance.Only consider this if for whatever reason you absolutely need to contemplate prioritizing that extra durability. Like maybe that crazy/epic ride you're going to make from Caracas to Buenos Aires, during which you expect to not be able to encounter a single bike shop? For most people I can't imagine this rationale would prevail.

Not a resiliant as lower teir chains
Quality is there, but twist durability isn't what I expected. I know, if I'm worried about the chain getting bent in a twisting direction I'm using it wrong, but dropped chains are just parked for the course and I haven't had this problem with the lower teir wipperman chains.

Best upgrade ever
I only had about 20 miles on a brand new SRAM 30 spd equipped MTB when I destroyed the stock chain on a downshift. The WIpperman Connex went on in less than 5 minutes and the bike shifted flawlessly thereafter. It felt like my entire drive-train had been upgraded. Shifts are crisp and lightning-quick---and the chain is a breeze to remove and clean. If you have a higher-end bike, this is a no-brainer--worth every penny.

Rust free performance.
This chain costs several $$ more than other 9Speed chains but performs well with precise shifts and cleans up nicely. I had to replace my cassette shortly after the chain which cleared up periodic clunking on my two smallest gears. It was not forgiving of my worn out cassette and I suspect I will be replacing 1-2 chains per cassette instead of the 3 chains per cassette that seems to be the rule of thumb.

Great!
Fantastic chain, great quality. I've been running this chain for over a year on my hard tail 29er and I couldn't be happier. I just purchased another chain for my full suspension 29er. The included quick link makes a snap of removing the chain for a full cleaning. The stainless/nickel material keeps the chain from getting rusty after wet rides!
