I bought 2!!!
I grew up with this style sharpener in the house. It is the best and easiest I have ever used. Just go slow and light pressure, until the blade is sharp. My children expect miracles and try to run the knife through it hard and fast 2 or 3 times and complain it did not work. Steel is not soft, ergo the ability to cut! Take your time, and work the steel. BTW. my kids will not use my knives as they are TOO sharp for them and are afraid to cut themselves.

Not like the one you remember from when you were a kid.
Cheaply made. Didn't do a good job of sharpening my knives at all. The rubber treads won't stay on during use. The sharpening stone in the center kept moving (side to side) while trying to sharpen the knife, making it hard to keep an appropriate angle to get a good edge. Don't waste your money!

For the money this works great
I had one of these years ago, but it came apart. I loved the one I had so I searched for a replacement. This is a better version with the rubber rings. It gives it a better grip when rolling on a smooth surface. For the price it does a good job. Easy to use.

This is a teeny tiny knife roller sharpener.
I was expecting a knife sharpener roller of a larger size. Also, the rubber wheel covers are cheap and come off the wheels when you use it like it is supposed to be used.Probably one of the most disappointing items I have bought from Amazon.

It works...but
Does a great job sharpening knives evenly once you get the hang of it, but the mechanics are a bit wonky. Works best on the floor for long knives, using a continuous stroke with moderate even pressure.

You get what you paid for.
Cheaply made you have to put the roller grips back every few rolls.

Love Old School Products
This knife sharpener is better than you would think. It is a product that has been around for years. I was very glad to find it again. The center is a real sharpening stone. The only thing is the rubber rings around the edges sometimes come loose, just wiggle them back in place. Asneeded put a few drops of oil on the knife blade before you sharpen it.
