Best way to add a coathanger rod to an existing shelf

Just big enough for standard wood closet rod.
So far so good. The flat black color looks almost powder coated as I desired. The gauge of the metal is slimmer than I had hoped nevertheless appears to be strong enough to hold the wood closet rod and clothes in my closet. I attached these to the underside of 1X12 shelves and like how the bracket moves the hole another inch or so away from the wall so clothes can hang without rubbing the wall. The hole opening is just large enough to accommodate a standard size closet rod but it takes some shoving to get them on - I would have appreciated a less tight fit but wanted the metal-wood look and pushed through this difficulty. The effort is now a fading memory and the beauty of the finished product is something I admire everyday.
