Good concept with poor materials
I bought this for my sister to use at her canal house on the gulf. It seemed a bit flimsy, but we were excited to try it. Didn't catch anything the first weekend and by the time I asked about it a few weekends later, she reported the rope used to pull it out of the water had disintegrated. I had to go swimming to fish the trap from the bottom of the canal.

illegal most places
expect a ticket in most areas. these are illegal in most states. buyer beware..most states require manual closing of the doors..That means you pulling the cord to close them. We need a crab cam to watch the sneaky escape artists.
