This is the best bobbin on the market. It's so easy to work with. Yes, it takes a bit ot time to get used to it. But afterward you'll ask yourself how you ever used the manual ones. Made in the USA and their customer service can't be beat.

I like tying with an automatic bobbing better than a standard one and is the least expensive that I have found.

This retractable bobbin complement Nor-Vise Fly Tying System perfectly, it is necessary to twist thread in one of its legs to avoid the bobbin to fold down, but done that it works very good, it is easy to control thread tension, you just need to follow instruction gived in attached DVD.

I have used one of the original Nor-Vise bobbins from many many years ago. Have fixed the metal tube on it many times, but it finally just gave up. This new one is has a ceramic tube,and "stirrups" that attach to the clutch mechanism using a wire hook into the clutch rather than the 'thru bolt' of my old one. I've tied ~1500 micro-jigs so far and haven't had any problems, once I learned to wrap one wrap around the wire before threading through the tube to provide the appropriate tension for wrapping and recoil/rewind. An automatic bobbin like this does take some practice, but give it a try especially when rotary tying.

This bobbin surpasses all others that I have tried. The tensioning system is fantastic and the ease with which the bobbin position is adjusted relative to thread length on the fly provides great control for securing materials. I have two of these and considering a third.
