how do you open the outlet cover? My model has two covers with a center rotating piece. I can't seem to pry open the cover to expose the outlet.

I believe you take a screwdriver and turn the center piece so that he locking plug covers will open. I think it is there as a safety mechanism.

What is the top plate made of?

It's a hard plastic. Similar to normal outlet covers but more heavy duty.

what is adjustable about the box?

You can raise or lower the box and therefore the plug. If your floor boards are thick, this helps you bring the plug up closer to floor level rather than being deeply recessed.

I noticed the wells are deep. Many plugs will not fit in the small holes. Is there a way to adjust the depth of the recepticle?

Yes and no. The receptacle can be adjusted up and down but even adjusted all the way up, it is still a good quarter inch below the surface of the face-plate. If the plug is too big to fit in the hole, only the tips will connect and it will be easily dislodged.

Missing Parts

I ordered and received 5 units of this Floor Box Kit. Of the 5, only One had all of the expected hardware... 4 of them did not include the 2- 6-32 screws used to install the power sockets.... This required that I go to the big Box store to get the screws needed... Beware ....quality control!
