How does it effect the gel strip on most razors?** A: I used it with a 5 blade system, that had strips and it worked extremely well...I had blades that I threw out after a month just because I was bored, they shaved as well as the first day that I first used them. I swear by this product. I expect that it will work well for you too. **Q: Has anyone tried a Dollar Shave Club razor on this?** A: No but u can now pay for a better blade and use it for months. I tried Dollar but found it inferior to Gillette, although much cheaper. **Q: Will this work with a Shick Hydro 5 razor?** A: It works with a Fusion 5. I would think so. Not much difference. Use it right from the start. I strop about 25-50 times with firm pressure. Use some soap as a lube. **Q: Can anyone definitely answer if it is better to use schick quattro titanium or regular quattro blades with this? metallurgically speaking?** A: You can use any razor with this, what it is doing is straightening your blade making it like New. Prior to using the blade buddy, one cartridge would only last me 4 comfortable shaves, at most. The shave buddy has lengthened my cartridge life to at least a month, maybe even longer.
