Rago Style 9357 – Extra-Firm Open Bottom Body Shaper

Im a curvy girl with a 36DD bra size so I thought that would be a good size to buy based on the reviews. Only one review that I saw said it runs small, but the lady who said she couldn’t get it over her client’s hips was right! Shoutout to this woman for wisdom.So, having received the product and being unsuccessful in actually pulling it up over my hips, I would say if you’re pear-shaped like me, size up the band (and down the cup) accordingly. Even though I couldn’t get it over my hips, I’m going to swap it for a 40C (my hip measurement is around 45”). And see what happens. I’m wanting it for tummy and hip shaping mostly anyway, and still planning to wear my regular bra under it for breast support. Plus I don’t want unsightly shoulder blade lump bulges 😂 under the sweater dress I’m gonna wear it with so the 40 band size may actually work in my favor in all areas.It’s super firm, stretchy enough to get it on if you buy the right size, but firm enough to properly be shapewear. Way better firmness than the firmest Maidenform and similar brands you get at the department stores. So I am looking forward to swapping mine out for a better hip fit!

A fantastic girdle for wearing vintage clothing, a must really. A generous amount of stretch to get it on (and a wiggle to get it up) but a truly extra firm hold. Reading some of the reviews might put you off if you’re unaware of what this is. This isn’t like your typical modern full body shaper, this is a completely vintage silhouette. Girdles do not accentuate your waist or lift your bottom they smooth you out all over for a straight look which was the goal way back when. If you’re wanting a nipped waist a cincher or corset is probably your best bet. Also the cups are cone shaped not the smooth rounded shape. I bought a 36C going slightly larger than my 34” waist and it still goes over my 44” hips and bottom. The fit is tight and very smoothing but not uncomfortable, the material is breath able. Overall very happy with my purchase and definitely want another or other shapers from Rago.

Ok let me just start by saying we had tried one on in a store so we knew ahead what size and how it fit. That said these are very small but have a lot of stretch. My wife wears a size 6-8 dress and has 36B bust so i ordered a 38bB as i did not want it to be too tight or squish her breasts. It fit great but it is a struggle to get on as she has to pull it on over her head. Her hips are about 39"-40" and her waist is 30". It looks great on and really helps hold her in. The garter tabs are metal which is nice but the adjusters and hardware on the shoulder straps looks to be plastic so that's why i only went 4 stars.Okay so let me share a little more. My wife used to weigh about 245 and wore a size 18-20 dress size. She had a gastric sleeve and lost about 100 pounds. While she was loosing weight she wore compression garments purchased from Marena. I can not tell you how glad I am that we did that because even at her age (mid 40's) these seemed to be very helpful in reducing the amount of excess skin. She still has many of these compression garments that she wears regularly as they are comfortable and functional. Although she has lost the weight she does have some excess skin and her breasts need support. This gives great support and gives her more shape.

I have been eyeing this Rago slip as early as my first peek at the Sears catalog as a young girl. I finally bought one! It's mine!First off--this thing is incredibly powerful at smoothing lumps and bumps!! Even back rolls! There is a reason Rago has existed and has a credible reputation.Secondly --the size I ordered wasn't right for me since I was looking for a daily power slip under my work clothes. I am a 40DDD, 32 waist, 48 hip, thick thighs. I was going to order the 42DD (smaller cup to help with the lift) but chose the 44DD. While it definitely fit, it was a chore to squeeze into and not something I'm willing or able to do everyday. I'm used to corsets and have worn medical Rx compression garments for nearly two decades. This was like putting them all on at once! I am going to exchange this one for a 48DD for being able to save myself the wrestling match of the century putting the shaper on.Lastly --this is an absolutely gorgeous garment. I chose the Mocha color. It's superior quality and classically sensual. The fabric is also not scratchy like many garments of this material can be. The bra straps are sturdy satin that are adjustable but do not have any give (which is important in a control bra).You'll be happy with choosing this over all the others on the market if you are aiming for serious control in your undergarments that are pleasing to the eye.Tip: order by the largest part or your core to get the easiest fit (while still doing a fine smoothing job). You'll still need 5 to 10 mins to put it on, and a cocktail afterwards to relax but you will be one sassy lass in this slip!

Good product but the shipping is NOT discreet. Arrived in a very thin plastic bag that says "RAGO SHAPEWEAR" in very large font and you can easily feel the bra and garters through the envelope. Mail carrier gave me a funny look and it was very embarrassing.

Ok. So I'm transitioning to a more 50s wardrobe. Just adore the look. The look, however, is making some undergarments necessary. Here's one I like. So, I had read reviews. Y'know about feeling a chicken nugget in the intestines it's so tight review(still giggling over that). So I went down a cup, but up a band size. This worked, but I could've stayed 36 D. I wear a lot of compression tanks. Pretty much constantly under everything. I'm a size 6 but I like a smooth line. So to all who regularly wear tight Spanx like clothing, you don't need to size down. Really. I barely noticed the snugness. That said, well made garment. Works perfect under my dress. The one thing? It will change the shape of your breasts to a wee bit cone shaped. I was, at first, having a wtf moment, then began doing my Madonna Vogue impression (reference for the 90s teenagers lol) and all was right again in the world.

I’m really not sure if I will keep this. I have bought & been very satisfied with Rago girdles, & shapers in the past but I feel like this one I was just slightly “off” I ordered a 36DD & the bra portion fit great. I have a pretty standard “hourglass” figure, a typical size 12-14 US, and honestly I just didn’t find it tight enough to hold me in! It was actually wasn’t holding my tummy or waist in at all, my waist is 11 inches smaller than my bust and hips. But if I sized down my chest would be busting out of the bra part. Strangely this was also very short. It barely reached halfway down my bum which is odd because I have a very short torso! On the plus side, it looks really lovely on and I might just keep it to have something pretty to wear! It doesn’t really work as shapewear under a tight dress though, I tested it out & you could see a super obvious line halfway down my bum.....

I have a larger chest size and was worried that because of it the bottom would be swimming on me. That wasn’t the case at all. It was a perfect fit and slid on relatively easily. Gives a great retro look. Arrived quickly as well.

Great fit. Worth the extra coming from America. Would like a turquoise one but they dont seen to make it in that colour.
