Free S**t

This latest Charles Burns offering is disappointing. It feels as though I just paid £15 for his shopping list. Yes, it contains loads of glorious CB art, and yes, it's another lovingly bound, immaculately presented Phantagraphics hardback, but it took me 10 mins to flick through the entire book and...that's about all you get. I'm sure there are those who will appreciate this but to me, the whole thing feels like a bit of a cash grab. I'm a hardcore Charles Burns fan, but this is for hardcore hardcore Charles Burns fans only.I couldn't bear to give CB and Phantagraphics one star, so...there you go. Three stars.
