I noticed a review claiming this as an maoi.  is this true?

Curcumin activates MAOI-A and MAOI-B at higher doses. It therapeutically increases both Serotonin and Dopamine levels, without any negative side-effect. However, it does not trigger both MAOIs to the point one would have to worry about strong interactions with other anti-depressant medications, nor would you have to worry about what you ate with Curcumin, like you would with the old tricyclic anti-depressants. I have taken separately, both Zoloft and Cymbalta at different times with CuraMed and other Curcumins, with zero side-effects. Curcumin has always enhanced the anti-depressant effect.

Does anyone know if I can cut these open and put it in juice or something? The pill is too large for me to swallow.

I suggest you buy the lower dose 375 softgels.  Cutting the 720 mg. dose is messy and you don't get all of the product. AT times 375 mg. is all I need.

Does your product also include Piperine, an ingredient which enhances absorption rate into the body?

Piperine is a compound extracted from black pepper. It is used in some dietary supplements to enhance the absorption of ingredients that are otherwise not well absorbed, such as curcumin.  It is important to note that only 2 to 10% of black pepper is piperine, and absorption claims for piperine are not true for black pepper.
Terry Lemerond, the founder and president of EuroPharma, the company behind the Terry Naturally brand of dietary supplements, has chosen not to use piperine in his products. He feels there are significant disadvantages to piperine and that there are other, more preferable options available.

For example, piperine may be contraindicated for use with many prescription medications, as it changes how many drugs are metabolized in the liver and intestines.
