BUTTERICK PATTERNS B4790 Misses' Wrap Dress, Size FF (16-18-20-22),Blue

I sew a lot of my clothes so that I get the right fit. I’ve been sewing since I was about eight years old, so I continued to collect patterns that will allow me to create the look I want. This pattern is simple and easy to follow.

I got the pattern just in time to make the perfect holiday dress!! And it Was a big hit at the Christmas party 😂🎉. Ever one wants me to make them matching dresses know for next year's haliday photos. And With three easy to fallow pattern pieces the only real thing that's intimidating about making the dress is the sheer amount of fabric you will want/need for the dress. Depending on size I'd recommend between 4 to 6 yards of fabric. I'd recommend using more cotton-based and or easy to breathe fabric similar to the kind of fabric they'd have back in the 1950s using a firmer silk or satin won't flow right with the pattern of making it look chunky and unflattering. With any dress pattern and body type you will have to adjust it and fit it to your exact body type. This pattern is made to fit a 1950s ideal body type. we all have are own unique shapes and figures and sometimes we need to make adjustments to fit our own style and skin.

I don't have a long torso and ended up resewing the seams at the shoulders. After I finished and tried it on, it was gaping at the sides and neckline. So I cut about 5" of fabric off and it's a much better fit. I used the size 14 pattern, which is close to a size 6 in modern sizing. I really love this dress!

I am going to a Glenn Miller concert and wanted a vintage outfit to wear this pattern really fit the bill.

I love this dress. I had to do some adjusting after the fact but thats normal. Ill definitely be making several more. That said, I'm 5'8 and 140 pounds, I'm a steady size 6 or medium dress size. While this pattern did account for my size, it was only barely. It says it goes up to a size 12 or 14 and I maxed that out in a couple measurements.

No issues. Patterns are easy enough to work with and instructions are clear.

Vintage pattern you can't get in a store anymore. I just need to get some material now.

very easy to follow pattern for beginners

Dieses Kleid lässt sich wirklich sehr schnell naehen. Es werden nur vier Schnittteile zugeschnitten. Das Vorderteil, ein Stück für den Rücken, und zwei Teile für den Tellerrock. Das Rockteil wird an das Rückenteil angenäht und der Rock dann vorne geschlossen, wohingegen das Vorderteil hinten am Rücken geschlossen wird. Die Naehte werden mit Saumband versaeubert. Ich bin mit sechs Metern gut hingekommen. Den unteren Rocksaum habe ich nicht mit Saumband versaeubert. Es gibt sicher Schnitte die weniger Stoff verbrauchen, aber dann hätte man keinen so schön schwingenden Rock an ;-).
