This is overall an excellent product. I'm blown away at the difference in fluorescence between this flashlight and the cheap ones, which mostly operate at 405 or 395 nm. The fluorescence from this 365 nm device is MUCH stronger.I love that it has a rechargeable battery and a charger with a cord. It also has a neat carrying case for the flashlight and the charger.My only criticism is that it still emits a lot of visible light. To the point that one could mistake it for a regular flashlight if it weren't for the fluorescence effects. I subsequently ordered a UV pass filter to put between the bulb and the head, but I think there should have been one to begin with. That's why I'm docking a star for "Brightness."

I would say this is the best UV light for the money but I am cheap. turns out this is the very best UV light I have ever had or see. and it was affordable. I have several other lights of this same type design using the 3 VDC batteries. very rugged built. I recommend this light for the annual "Possum Walk Scorpion Round Up."

So my light arrived today. I am happy with the construction and power of the light. Just note that the light has only one mode, which can be a little bight if working up close to objects. It also does not have a focus option. The beam spread is pretty good, but if you're looking to be able to focus to a tight beam, or wider spread, you'll need to find another light.So far, so good otherwise, though.

My use case was detecting where the cat in the house I was moving into had sprayed the walls, since the odor was fairly strong. I can confirm that this light is the in the correct range to illuminate cat pee, but I won't guarantee anything other than that. Seems sturdy, works fine. Doesnt show up when its bright outside and the windows are open, but you already knew that. No complaints.

The flashlight and charger did seem to be well made and fairly sturdy but unfortunately it wasn't suitable for my purpose which was to detect pet urine. After adopting two kittens, I suspected our older cat was being naughty in retaliation. With the lights out I carefully searched our windowless basement and did not locate any places where she may have eliminated. Once I turned the lights on, I found a wet spot on the treadmill mat and confirmed it was urine. Before cleaning it up, I turned the lights out and used the UV flashlight again just to be certain I didn't miss it during my initial search. This light did not provide any indication of the urine while using it at various distances between four inches and two feet so I can't recommend it for this purpose.

Nice well made heavy duty unit. Shines very bright. I bought it to find minerals. As of this time I haven’t had get a chance to get a chance to use it .Hopefully it has the radiance to pick out the phosphorescence of the minerals I’m looking for.

No instructions. What battery polarity (+ or -) should face the removable cap?
