Best wire connectors we've ever used!
These solder wire connectors are so handy and easy to use. It took a bit of practice. I think we ruined two of them before we figure it out. You slip your wires in like you would any connector (I like to overlap a bit in the middle), then you heat the connector focussing mainly on the middle first, where the solder is. You can heat it by your own preference but I used a lighter, be careful and use caution to not completely scorch the connector. Here's the important part: have a set of needle nose pliers ready because you will need to gently press the part that has the solder immediately after heating to ensure that the solder completely seals the wires together. Then you can continue to heat the ends to snug up the rest of the connector on the sheathed wire. I don't test it until it has completely cooled. Made the mistake the first time of pulling on the wires to see if it was going to hold and it all came apart. I also did not use the needle nose pliers the first time either. After figuring out how to use them we have used several of them now as we are in the middle of rebuilding a car and there were many places to use these, we have decided that these are the best thing since sliced bread. Love them. Highly recommend them. What's really nice is that you have a clean finished look that does not require electrical tape or other mess looking methods. These look neat, clean, and hold extremely well.

Makes a great soldered connection
Purchased these Sopoby solder connectors to make water tight connections on my trailer. They've lasted a year now and haven't had any problems with my trailer lights. I also used heat shrink tubes over them really making them water tight.

Time saver
These work very well. Saves alot of time on your electronics or electrical jobs.

Good product but use a heat gun.
They worked great after I purchased a heat gun and used thedwflector attachmentthat came with the heat gun. Without that they didn’t come out good at all. Insufficient melting of solder and melting the insulation. With the proper heat gun, very good product

METAL
These things are brilliant. I don't know the secret to solder that melts before heat shrink blisters, but the manufacturers sure seem to. The combination of the adhesive rings and the solder rings makes really strong connections that are electrically sound and seem resistant to the elements. I've used them so far to make connections under the hood of a Ford Ranger, and they're holding up.

Great Product
Came across this product while looking for something else. I never knew these existed. I used them to solder a couple of wires together and these connectors worked great. Easy to use. I just finished the job w/some shrink tubing over it to give it a clean and more secure application.

Great idea, needs improvement. Not recommended for boat wiring or projects in tight places.
Great idea, but needs improvement. The shrinkable material is too thin. By the time the solder melts, the plastic has melted too much. Also, you cannot hold the wires and connector in your hand, you must put them on a solid surface to hold everything in place until it cools. Otherwise when things start to melt, you wind up with a mess. Get the wires in the right position and hold them firm against the solid surface, then use the heat gun. I'm sure there is some combination of heat level, distance from gun, etc., that will make a satisfactory result, but I have not found it. I have used low setting up close, high setting up close and farther away. Either the solder doesn't melt or the plastic melts too much. I have had a couple of successful tries, but five failures for each success. If the plastic was thicker, these would be great. I got these for wiring on my boat, with means that most connections are made in an area too tight to provide the needed solid (non-flammable) surface on which to hold everything in place while heating and cooling. I have reverted to the crimp style shrink connectors for the boat work. Great idea, but needs improvement.
