CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1001) and Core 2 (220-1002) Exam Cram

Review 2021-1-13I like this Exam Cram book. So far the reading is easy to follow along to. Just when I expect to read more the author does a wonderful job pausing at the right time to have a Cram Quiz. I am finding I can retain and recall information easier using this study format. I bought this book to refresh my learning from a Community College course I took in Fall 2017. Surprising to find that ALL of the content is still very much relevant and accurate in this book today in January 2021.I will follow up when I have completed both the A+ Core 1:220-1001 and Core 2:220-1002 Exams as recommended by the author. This Exam Cram is an excellent refresher to A+ Exam(s).

I just passed the first exam. My suggestion would be to get both books because he has another one that has a bunch of the review questions and before you even start reading the material go through all of the practice exam questions in the first book and at the end of each section before you read it because you'll know what to be looking for while you're reading. My second advice is to be near a computer and do as much Hands-On as possible. I only have experience with laptops and desktops that are home-based and I have never worked in an IT position which limits my experience with servers and printers and bigger networking situations and RAIDs so this test was way harder for me than it might be for someone who has experience. If you are like me and have little or no experience I would recommend getting Mike Myers A+ certification book in addition and be sure you give yourself a lot of time to study.

Lots of information, it’s a long read that’s for sure. I’m a believer of not putting all your Eggs in one basket so I rely on this book and other resources like videos and practice exams. The writer does a great job of explaining things without being overly complicated or too boring. I’m checking off my list to make sure I fully understand each section before I take my exam but I think I will be ready in the next few weeks. I recommend this book for beginners or just if you need a refresher.

The media could not be loaded.  I was learning a lot just going from Chapters 1-4 but imagine my surprise when I turn the page and I'm back in Chapter 1.. Exact same pages with the exact same information reprinted making Chapter 4 incomplete and also doesn't include an exam quiz at the end of the chapter like the others do. Flipping forward Chapters 1 & 2 repeat, then skip directly to Chapter 5. Minor error in the grand scheme of the book but still annoying.

I passed CompTIA A+ and the Exam Cram book was a great help. It helped me gain a better understanding of the material in CompTIA A+ courses. The chapters were very concise, and each chapter had a quiz at the end, which helped me prepare for the exam. It also has a cram sheet which helped me a lot. I highly recommend this book.

So this book is great, i love that it follows the comptia guide in order. In addition to this book i also had a couple other books i perused and also Professer Messers youtube series that is free, and bought a couple udemy courses from Mike Myers. A combo of all those things plus having a background already working in IT really helped and i passed both courses same day the first time, today! The book is a good and easy read and outlines everything clearly. definitely recommend this to your arsenal

If ur have ever been curious on the fundamentals of IT, or considering testing for the A+ Certification- this book is a must have. As a beginner going through an intensive training, daily classes, reading a text book, watching videos, group meetings- this book ‘specifically’ provided me with the most clarity. The writing is clear, enjoyable, concise, applicable, and the practice test at the end of chapters were fun to do. Better then any IT info books I have experienced -highly recommend!!

This book is a solid primary studying tool but be sure to supplement this with other materials as well to ensure passing your 1001+1002 exams. The Real World Scenarios, Practice Exams, and end-of-section quizzes were all very helpful in testing and solidifying your knowledge. My only complaint is that when reviewing your practice exam questions on the Pearson VUE software, it displays the results of your answer choices. Aside from that minor caveat, this is a solid buy and I would highly recommend it. Best of luck!

I studied for my A+ exam for core1 and 2 from this book its good book gives you every intricit details that you should know .

Very analytical and informative. My review is 4 stars and not 5 because the pictures are in black and white. Why? How are you supposed to colour-code cables and slots? Not ideal as you then have to download images from the web
