This is a GREAT ash pan. It has seriously helped reduce mess and ash clouds when I clean my burner out, and it holds a good amount of ash before it needs emptying. The shovel that comes with it is also a good and sturdy item. I am very pleased with both.

Love this. Makes cooling down ash before disposal a breeze. Without leaving a mess. The handy little shovel is good too.

Makes cleaning the fire easier, which is the point. The handles are a bit baffling - handle on the top is for, er, nothing - except if you accidentally grab it by it unthinkingly, you get to pour the ash all over as the whole thing will swing open. The hook on the side…absolutely no clue what that’s about other than an opportunity to catch your shin. However, so long as you use *only* the full-length handle, all is well. Seems expensive for what it is, but seems to be the going rate and I wouldn’t be without one now. The small coal scuttle was a bonus - was expecting it to be dire but it’s v sturdy.

As we were having a log burner fitted we needed a system for removing ash. Previously we had an open fire and used to just carry the ash pan outside, with dust dropping and blowing about everywhere. This sturdy black metal box holds loads of ash. We have emptied out log burner ash tray many times into it and haven’t had to empty it yet! It seems strongly made, easy to use, and being Matt black it really fits in well on our hearth. I noticed some premium makes like this cost over £100, but there’s no need to spend that much - this really does the job and costs a fraction.

Great ash storage pan for cooling and cleaning, shovel works and fits well for purpose, the only down side in my opinion is I instinctively want to grab the top handle for carrying, which actually opens the ash pan up instead of the main carry handle which folds behind the ash pan, that’s probably more of a me problem than a general one

This is just what we were looking for and it keeps the ash nicely contained ready for disposal plus we like the way the main handle acts like a prop whe you lay it on its side when cleaning the fire out.Good for the price. However the hinge on the lid popped apart after just a couple of uses, my husband is going to have to bolt on some ordinary hinges to keep the lid in place.Would have got 5 stars if not for the hinge.
