A heritage put in motion was the life of Elsa. Alternately tough and full, it imbued itself in theculture of the 20th century, early on, and continuously, with a thread carried on my the nexttwo generations and commensurately so.

This is a great book of personal photographs of a very great and private designer! If you are a lover of fashion, you need this book in your collection!

While this is a gorgeous coffee table book, it is nothing more than a recap of everything that was written before it. I will keep the book, but will probably use it as a white elephant gift this christmas. There are plenty of seen/published photos of Ms. Schiaparelli, but few clothing designs and none at all of any of the jewelry she designed. Disappointing

Amazing journey of a visionary fashion icon

This book is presented beautifully the photos are wonderful. A treasure in my collection.

Considering her one-time importance there has never been enough attention given to Schiaparelli and her contribution to 20th Century fashion. She was the couturier that rivalled Chanel in Paris, yet she isn't a household name. The woman was deeply intelligent and she was 'brand-aware' years ahead of other designers. For most she remains only famous for her connection with Dali's form of Surrealism or for inventing 'Shocking Pink'.This lovely hard-back book reveals the woman through page after page of photographs. There is not enough writing to support the pictures, there is not a sharp enough timeline given. It doesn't matter, this is a fascinating collection of pictures.
