I've never been a brilliant gardener - things go wrong! I've always been reluctant to use the seemingly never ending array of chemicals and treatements available though - seems to harsh and with animals and young children, maybe even dangerous?So I'm delighted to have this incredible book - a completely updated edition to show and explain in detail what problems are occuring and what I can do about them - naturally, using organic, science based remedies.In full colour, and in a plant by plant order, it makes perfect sense and tells you so much. Including flowers, trees, vegetables, shrubs plus a comprehensive and detailed selection of diseases, pests and the like. I love the photo identification giving me complete confidence in what I might be seeing!Easy to now identify friend or foe in my garden, what to do and how to do it withough resorting to a chemical cocktail. I'm looking forward to a long and 'fruitful' organic summer in my garden.

I got this book recently and I have really enjoyed browsing through it.I have found the section that has identified the pest and then describes the problems it causes and how best to get rid of it the most useful.The first half of the book has is ordered by the type of plant that you have and tells and describes potential problems to you so you can identify what has gone wrong.The only reason I haven't given this book 5 stars is because it is really written for the us and Canada. I don't know how much of this book is therefore irrelevant/useful. So far it's told me how to tackle them pesky slugs but I don't know whether it contains information about all of the pests in my garden. I wish I had known before ordering it (although I probably would have ordered it still).
