Gatco 856A Latitude II 30" Grab Bar, Chrome/ADA Compliant Wall Mount Stainless Steel 30" Safety Grab Bar for Bathroom

We installed two of these bars in our new shower. A 36" one is horizontal located 3 feet off the floor on the back wall of the shower. It is so nice to either lean against or to grab. Since this was a new shower, I had the plumber install 2" x 6" PT wood backing between the metal studs before the new wallboard and tile were installed. There is no way this bar can come loose. (but see below for recommendation if you don't have stud or other wood backing). The 18" bar Gatco 864 Marina Grab Bar, Satin Nickel, 18-Inch was installed vertically about 4 feet off the floor and 6" inside the shower curb on the end wall opposite the shower head.This is a quality product both in looks and function. The finish coordinates perfectly with the other fixtures (Gatco and Hansgrohe) in our new shower. It has the looks and feel of quality. It represents excellent value. The 1-1/4" diameter looks much better than the bulky 1-1/2" diameter of other bars.If you have to mount this (or any other) grab bar into a tile wall without stud or other backing, I highly recommend using Snaptoggles by Toggler Toggler Snaptoggle Toggle Bolt and Drywall Molly (Pack of 4). They may cost slightly more than other fasteners (like the standard wing toggles) but they are "snap" to install. The two big benefits of Snaptoggles are (1) that you can mount and remove the fixture you are mounting without disturbing the fastener base and (2) only a 1/2" hole has to be drilling in the tile shower wall. For a shower, I highly recommend using stainless steel bolts. And put silicone sealant on the fastener and fixture back before mounting.

Better quality than I expected. Very modern as well. Great product does not look like a grab bar. Just looks like a really nice towel bar...I would put one in even if you don't have any elderly people at home.

I have a heavy swing door and needed a handle that you can only see from one side. I purchased about 13 different kinds of handle from barn door ones to appliance pulls. None of those were able to work. This ended up being perfect option and looks great. It doesn’t even look a grab bar. Very easy to install and great price too.

Looks like a towel bar, acts like a grab bar Very nice and sturdy. Trying not to make my house look like an old folks home, but still provide safety. This fits the bill.

I ordered at least six different grab bars for my project. This one was definitely the most elegant. Simple lines that won't collect water and develop crud overtime. The enemy of a bathroom is mold.Very happy with this grab bar.

The bar is high quality. However only screws came with the bar. No instructions, template - OR MOUNTING HARDWARE besides screws.Lastly, it would be nice if the mounting holes had some wiggle room. You will have to be VERY precise drilling into hard tile.

Good quality, no problems with installing

I bought the 42" Moen grab bar and it looks great in my new shower! It's slimmer than ordinary bars and looks like a designer bar.

Excellent safety bar for shower. After installation the bar is secure. The bar is of excellent quality.
