Still satisfied after 8 months!
Bought this chair on a whim because I like the look and wanted a new desk chair for my home office. Loved it right away, and still do after 8 months of having it. Very sturdy and comfortable, and it looks great (for my style). Mostly good for working at the computer, not so great as a reading chair (I have a separate chair for this purpose).

Good chair, great value
Very happy with this purchase. PRO: Supportive, firm back and seat (but not too firm), padded armrests at a comfortable height, good length and width of seat for someone of average height/weight, good range on telescoping seat height, reclines/rocks or locks easily, minimalist yet professional styling, easy to assemble (< 30 minutes by myself, with the help of another chair to lay it on during assembly). CON: Not much. Maybe wish the back was a tad taller? Comes above shoulders to the base of my head, so you can't really rest your head against it (unless you are quite short of stature--but that is not something I needed).

Nice as long as you use it in a dark room.
Packaged arrived from Amazon open - something that seems to be happening quite a lot these days. Thankfully, the contents did not appear to be damaged. Chair seemed to be nicely, if somewhat sloppily packed. Easy to assemble, though there are a few more parts than the common office chair. The overall chair is nice and I am finding it quite comfortable (somewhat firm, holds the body upright for good at-desk posture, etc.), and it looks pretty nice, with a caveat, and why only 4-stars: The chrome frame, armrests, and legs were all marred, poorly polished, covered in what appears to be hand-marks, etc. Tried my best to clean it up, but the imperfections are quite prominent. Fortunately for me, I work in a dark-ish office space, so the poor quality polishing of chrome parts does not stand out. If this was purchased for a brighter office space, conference room, etc., I would be quite disappointed. Botton line: you get what you pay for. An overall nice-looking and comfortable office chair that is not ready for prime time. Seeing that it is about 1/2 the cost of higher-quality chairs of its type, these cosmetic issues can be begrudgingly overlooked. Just be warned. If you want to have a chair in this style that looks high-quality in a bright room, look elsewhere and be prepared to pay more. Otherwise, a decent chair and overall I'm happy for my purposes.

Durable and Looks Nice
This was my second time ordering this chair. I moved cross country a few months ago and I took it apart so it could fit. It was jammed in the backseat taken completely apart,. Looked good as new when I put it back together in my house. It is not heavy, but it is heavy enough to keep you from sliding everywhere. The only complaint o have is that o wish it was easier to roll around on carpet, but I can always buy a chair pad. It has a clean and modern look. It is a good size for any size desk. It wasn’t expensive and I use it everyday, so it’s a steal in my opinion. The height is easily adjustable via a lever on the bottom of the seat. The material is a vinyl faux leather, but it still looks nice.

Well designed and built. Good tools provided.
Very sturdy. High grade materials. I was impressed. Also the assembly was simple and surprisingly fast. The tools provided were also well done. Everything fits one size allen and a good strong T - type allen wrench was provided making it very easy to put the whole thing together. I would recommend buying better casters though. Suggest the LIFELONG casters. This is nothing against the chair. They all come with very poor plastic casters that wear out quickly and tear up floors. And I have hardwood floors. Update: After a few months I am even happier with this chair than when I first got it. It is showing zero signs of wear and tear and frankly it's even more comfortable after a little bit of breaking in. I will likely buy another one fo these for the upstairs.

This is a very well-made chair that I shouldn't have bought.
I've put together my share of ready-to-assemble furniture and I've got to say that this chair is very well-made. The hardware that comes with this chair is top-notch. They even include a T-handle Allen wrench, instead of the usual tiny Allen key. That's a small thing but it's a sign that the manufacturer cares about their product. As a standard desk chair I find it to be very comfortable. The reclining function is a bit stiff, but it's stiff in the manner that is appropriate for office work. But I shouldn't have bought this chair. It's my fault, I should have seen the obvious: The back of this chair is fixed to the seat. That means that when the back reclines so does the seat. This is not-suited for my needs. This isn't the chair's fault; it's how it's designed. And it's a good design for an office chair. But in my home office I wanted a chair that I could truly relax back into to watch TV or play a game. I love how this chair sits while typing but I just can't use it to properly relax. But I can't say that I regret the purchase. I'll find a use for it and it really is a darn fine chair. So if you don't need the back to recline independently of the seat then buy this chair with confidence that you'll be getting a quality product at a very reasonable price.

Cheap bolts.
The chair looks great. But two bolts are are stuck and could not be screwed in. Making the chair useless as it is not secured tit he base.

A Very Decent Chair for the Price
The first thing to keep in mind is that this is a $160 chair. If you are expecting $1000 engineering, you will be disappointed. However, this is a very good chair for the price. Handsome, comfortable, nothin extravagant, but exactly what I expected. That said, I felt compelled to review this chair because I almost returned it. Building the chair was quite simple, but I learned something that could be useful to anyone considering this purchase. If you follow the below steps PRIOR to assembly, I believe that you will be able to bypass the issues I experienced and save yourself a bunch of time and effort. After disassembling my chair and doing the below, I am now very happy with my purchase. A few hours after completing the assembly I noticed a popping noise that grew increasingly louder. At the very front of the chairs lean, POP, as soon as you lean back, POP. It was quite annoying and grew increasingly more so as time went on. I was, however, able to fix it with a little handy work and White Lithium Grease and WD40. 1) Set the mechanism aside on a towel and saturate every contact point with WD40. Including, and this is important because if you don't do it before assembly you'll have to take the chair apart again to reach it, the side of the mechanism that faces the underside of the seat there is a bolt, make sure you saturate that area well. Loosen the spring and saturate inside the sheath where the spring meets metal. Set aside and allow to penetrate while you work on the next part. 2) Follow thee steps in the video below to apply the lithium grease to the inner baring and washers inside the gas piston. As URLs are not allowed in Amazon reviews I have included the verbiage (copy / paste) to Google in order to find the video I am referring to on Youtube. After you have lubed up every contact point, assemble the product per the included instructions. You night have to wear it in a little by sitting in the chair and spinning, rotating, leaning, etc... But after a minute or two, there should be no more popping sound. Google the following for video: How to Repair DX Racer, GT Omega, AK Racing Office Chairs!
