Great bag for small jobs, small tools
I purchased this bag for small jobs around the house, very helpful since I just bought a new house. As it turned out, this bag isn't any good for carrying small power tools (drill, jigsaw, reciprocating saw, etc). After I realized this, I purchased Craftsman 9-37535 Tool Bag because of the dimensions and reviews. Most recently, I used both bags for a bunch of little jobs which turned in to needing all the tools pictured. I knew I needed to complete a couple reviews, so I didn't put tools away to show how much the two could hold, hence the photos. The drill and jigsaw went in the Craftsman bag along with some of the larger items. For reference, the hammer just barely fit in the Stanley bag. This is a nice bag, looks and works great. It is plenty strong for its size and what it will carry, but the Craftsman is stronger, mainly in the seams and the zipper. Made of the same material and very similar. Pros: - Ample pocket space inside and out for organization - Strong bag Cons: - Too small for large hand tools Overall, both bags have their strong and weak points but are still both excellent. I use both or one at a time, depending on the job.

Nice convenient bag, well made and roomy
This is a nice affordable bag and it's nice to have all of my (new) hand tools in one bag again. Over the years my tools kind of wandered off to various drawers and buckets and benches and so I bought this to gather them all back into the fold. But while I was ordering this I also bought a new Stanley hammer, all new screwdrivers, a few wrenches and some other small tools. So while I bought the bag for the old tools, they're on their own, lol, this bag is just for the new stuff. :) It's nicely made, has several interior and exterior pockets and nice strong handles. I would say the zipper is the weak link here. It's still working fine, but at times I have to pay attention to opening it and I just have a feeling it's going to be the first thing to go. But for now, all is well. For the price, a nice bag. By the way, even my Stanley 51-624 20-Ounce Rip Claw Fiberglass Hammer fits nicely in the bag and the bag still closes.

Most Practical Gift in the Right of Passage to Adulthood
For ten bucks, this is an impressive tool bag purchased as a Christmas gift for our teen-aged nephew. It's made of a heavy duty canvas material with reinforced heavy duty stitching. At first impression out of the box, I thought it was smaller than I realized during the purchase, but it is ultra-roomy for plenty of tools. The is no shortage of pockets on the interior and exterior of bag and the entire 65 piece "Homeowner's Tool Kit" by Stanley fills the bag with room to spare. The handles seem to be triple enforced to support the weight capacity of the bag as well. Even though kids just want cash and gift cards for Christmas, this is one of the most practical and "welcome-to-adulthood" gift we've ever given, and our nephew loved it. He commented that he looks forward to being the hero to a damsel in distress one day soon, and it will be all thanks to this kit. Fill this bag with practical tools for young adults as a rite of passage to being better prepared and self-sufficient in a pinch, but as an adult I'm now jealous!

Good bag for a good price
I got this bag for a great price and am very happy with the purchase. I am by no means a tool person, nor do I have overwhelming amounts of them. I got this bag to be kind of a one stop shop for me for various tools for projects around the house. I use them on average a few times a month. Depending on what you are doing I think that this bag is probably fine for almost any uses. It fits a normal sized hammer comfortably along with many other tools that I use. I cannot fit a smaller hacksaw inside if you wanted an idea of what could be put into it. The pockets are nice and work well. I cannot see why anybody from a contractor to the average person, would dislike the bag. For its size and price it is a great deal. I again do not use it extensively but I do not see how it would not work well for anybody, unless it is a size issue, in which case that is not the bag's fault, you just need a bigger one. Pros: +Sturdy +Good price +Good size for most tool uses, fits a standard sized hammer along with many other tools comfortably. Cons: -Could use a long strap for shoulder carrying.

The perfect tool bag
What a great tool kit. It is big enough to hold every thing I need, and small enough so I don't put extra stuff in. It has pockets inside and out. It is made out of very tough material, not flimsy canvas. I knew I could trust the name Stanley. I got a 13 inch hammer and it just fit, but it did. I ordered a lot of tools (listed below) and they all fit !! I plan to just take this from room to room, use the tools, and put them back in. A place for everything and everything in its place. Here is what fits in this tool bag. Great for keeping household tools
I had a couple of power tools that I've been either storing loose or in the cardboard box (a DeWalt impact wrench and a Black & Decker drill - both corded) that I decided needed another storage option. Given the relatively low price, I ordered both the Craftsman 13" Reinforced Tool Bag as well as the Stanley STST70574 12-Inch Soft Sided Tool Bag. I was amazed to find that while both are excellent, well constructed bags, they are actually suited for very different purposes. Both bags are made from a durable feeling 100% polyester. Both seem to be well constructed, with reinforcing material on the heavier duty seams. Both have a two piece fabric handle. Both are attractive, but fairly different styling. Both are made in China. The Craftsman bag has significantly more storage area inside, much more so than the 13 vs 12 inch size in the descriptions would lead you to believe. In addition to the extra inch of length, the base of the Craftsman bag is 8" wide compared to 5" for the Stanley bag, resulting in vastly more interior space. In keeping with the larger (and potentially heavier) payload of this bag, there is a bit more reinforced stitching on the handle of the Craftsman, as the handle fabric continues much further down the side of the bag. The other big win for the Craftsman is the heavier duty zipper. While still matching the price point of this bag (e.g. too much stress will destroy it), the zipper has bigger, heavier duty teeth that just feel like they'd hold up to a lot more abuse than the Stanley bag. In contrast, the Stanley bag looks a bit more refined. While both bags have 6 outside pockets, the Stanley has 3 pockets on each side of the bag, with the larger pocket on one side having a heavy duty Velcro flap to hold stuff in. In contrast, the Craftsman has three mesh pockets, with three non-mesh pockets right behind them. The pockets on the Stanley have a much greater capacity while the ones on the Craftsman seem quite limited. On the inside of the bag, the Stanley has 5 pockets of varying size on one side, and on the other side a single pocket the entire length of the bag with two Velcro attachment points to allow you to secure things inside. The Craftsman has no interior pockets. While I'm not convinced of the usefulness, the Stanley bag also has light reflective strips on the outside pouch flap, so it could save your life if walking down a dark rural road swinging your tool bag. For the purpose I originally had in mind (storing largish hand tools), the heavy duty, larger Craftsman bag fulfilled my needs exactly. However, if you're looking for a small tool bag to keep the basic screwdrivers, hammer, tape measure, and other small assorted tools in one of your kitchen cabinets, the Stanley is probably the better choice. When I pulled both out of the Amazon box, I found the Stanley to be the better bag... until I needed to fit the large tools in - at which point the Craftsman was the clear winner. But I will have no problem finding a use for the Stanley bag. Both are a good value for the money.

Great bag for ultiple uses - but I would not ever buy it to use for a tool bag - that would be pointless.
This works great for my tech supplies to keep handy in the living room instead of having cords and stuff all over the place in every drawer and on every counter, on the couch, plugged into every plug etc. All the cords are wrapped with "Gear Ties" by Nite Ize when not plugged into a jack and charging, but all the different kinds are handy in here, plus the little screwdriver set for tech repairs and all the little extras, memory cards, screen cleaner spray, little screen cleaner wipes, styluses, everything you always need but are searching for and have sitting everywhere but never where you look for it. As a tool box, really? Maybe for your first tool box when you don't have many tools and you don't have anything big. Also, it has compartments around the edges of the inside but many are really skinny and maybe fit a screwdrive but that's it. As for the middle portion, its pitch black in there so when you fill it with tools, it is one big pile of tools in a dark bag where you cannot see anything. It works great for my purposes and if I can get it on sale again, I have ideas for a few other uses. It is a great bag - but not for a soft sided tool box bag.

Smaller Than I Need, But I Need It Anyhow.
I wasn't very careful reading the description, and from the picture, I thought it was about 14". I had intended to use it for my MotoTool accessories, but the larger box won't fit. Not a problem. I think will make a nice bag for my medical stuff (insulin and syringes, blood glucose meter, and pills perhaps a snack and some water) for when I'm away from home all day. Sorta like a purse, without discouraging women who might think me married if I carry a purse. I'm thinking the Craftsman 13 in. and 18 in. Tool Bag Combo might be what I should buy. That would give me something for my Moto-Tool accessories, plus a bag for my OTHER tools as well. If you put a electric drill in THIS bag, it'd have to be corded, not cordless, and by the time you added a set of drill bits, there's be no room for screwdrivers, a hammer, pliers, and tape rule. What I REALLY need a bag that's 10 times as big, that comes with a pack mule, all of which folds up to fit in the pocket of a t-shirt (tools and mule included) that comes to me when I dial it on the phone, even if someone has borrowed it. Or maybe what I need is a wife....

Excelente
