Excellent performer for Linux users
I use Linux (specifically Ubuntu) as my only operating system and this RTX 2080 Ti works perfectly with Ubuntu 18.04.2 and Ubuntu 18.10, which are the current LTS and interim releases at the time of writing. Performance is, as you would expect from a 2080 Ti, excellent. This card has a modest factory overclock and I was able to push that further with a +160Mhz GPU offset, +1560Mhz memory clock offset and 366W power limit which is well beyond what high-end factory overclocked cards offer. The thermal solution on this card can run with a permanent overclock in place. The USB-C port on this card works under Linux without issues.Even under load, the card remains astonishingly quiet. My workstation is on a shelf 1m to my left and I never hear the GPU fans spin up. Temperatures sit around ~50degC when idle and ~68degC when gaming or encoding video. With regards to video encoding, the improved quality nvenc encoder works a treat with ffmpeg, OBS Studio and Shotcut (video editor). I have 1440p monitors and play games at that resolution. I now play every game at whatever the maximum settings are and never see the frame rate drop below 60fps.From a technical perspective, this card is fantastic but comes with a hefty price tag even though it is more keenly priced than most 2080 Ti GPUs available right now.

Future proofing? This is your card.
I bought and built my computer 6 years ago never changed a thing on it besides hd and a new ssd, but my card was getting a bit outdated and i was having to run new games on medium to get consistent fps, cpu ram the lot are all still good for years but my gpus time had come, forked out a lot of money for this gpu (it is a lot of money) but iv now future proof my pc again for years to come, maybe some more ram might be required in a year or two but all good and dont need to worry about any new games coming out that i cant run because this cards runs everything even 90+ fps in 4k gaming if you get your settings right, in conclusion incredible card, a lot of money, very worth it if you’re not a stick in the mud.

Good performance in heat/noise but pricey and needs space
I purchased one of these to replace my 1080 Ti SLI setup which consisted of the previous Gigabyte 1080 Ti Aorus Xtreme Waterforce and air cooled version, which I was very impressed with due to its great temps and low noise levels as well as sustained clocks. The card as expected, is one of the fastest single slot cards available. Directly comparing performance at my native resolution (typically 3840x1080 on a Samsung ultra wide) to SLI, the card does typically fall short fps wise by around 10 - 20%, not entirely unexpected. However since SLI tends to be limited in a lot of games, not to mention many of its shortcomings, the 2080 Ti does deliver a more preferred gaming experience overall.Temperature wise I'm seeing anywhere from low 40s to low/mid 60s during heavy gaming sessions, which contrasting to the 1080 ti, is typically around 10 - 15C higher, hence the 4 stars.Once temps start reaching over 60s the fans are somewhat audible. For the most part though temperatures are usually well below this threshold in the majority of games and thus noise is typically a non issue.Price wise it's very expensive comparing to other 2080 Ti cards but if you're looking for the utmost best in performance both in heat/noise with little hassle in setup, it's a top contender, just be sure you have room to fit the 240mm radiator, especially in systems with aio cpu coolers in place.

Amazing GPU
It's a 2080ti, it's an amazing card, everyone knows this. This particular card has some small caveats to be aware of if you plan to over-clock it. The max power limit is 122% which is slightly lower than the 130% some other cards boast. It also runs very hot on the stock air cooler, but that can be fixed by reapplying thermal paste. I myself used a waterblock to cool it and have no issues keeping it cool even when overclockingIt's factory overclock is very high compared to other cards which is a huge plus for this modelExtremely happy with the card, but if you're into extreme over clocking or LN2 I would recommend another model, like the kingpin model

Good Card - Terrible Support - Avoid!
Really can't advise that anyone goes with this (or any) Gigabyte product, I purchased my 2080Ti and encountered an issue with the fans straight out of the box, I raised a support ticket with Gigabyte to try and resolve the issue as Amazon doesn't have this available in stock any more (2-3 month wait and they advise contacting Gigabyte directly). My ticket is still sat on their support system flagged as "The ticket is being processed." and it has been at this status since 30/09/2019 1:07 PM. This isn't the type of product service I would expect with any new consumer electronic let alone a £1300 piece of hardware. This was my first time purchasing from Gigabyte and I won't be doing so again and advise that you look elsewhere too.The card itself performs well, attaining the expected level of FPS in most of the major triple-A titles I've tested and performed ok during benchmarking, although not what you would expect for a water-cooled card (some triple fan cards perform better). The cards fans also power up to full RPM on boot and stay there until the system has reaches login, this isn't too much of an issue but the first time it happens you think its going to take off (worse than PS4 "jet engine" type of loud) so if you need to reboot late at night expect to wake the neighbours! The RGB Fusion software used to manage the cards RGB is basic, and I do mean BASIC! In comparison to other offerings by alternative manufacturers or peripheral suppliers (such as Razer) the software seems stripped down to the bare bones with only a basic amount of control and very little in the way of customisation. The card looks good in a case especially if mounted in a vertical orientation, it's just a shame that the card and fans don't sync up together making the lighting effect obscure and inconsistent.Unfortunately, the extremely poor support from Gigabyte has tainted the product for me, and thats why I can only give it one star, at £1300 you'd expect much more (most people would spend that on an entire PC not just a GPU).
