We bought a lot of the Dragon Series books, my son who is 9 years old really enjoys reading the books. He has to do testing at school and these are easy to pick up and read.

Book Review
{My thoughts} – Drake gets to go on his first adventure with Worm alone. He doesn’t get to take any of the other Dragon Masters or Dragons with him. He isn’t sure about it at first but he thinks if it can help save the Kingdom of Bracken then it is worth it.When Worm and him arrive in Inis Banba it is nothing like Drake had imagined. He meets the new Dragon Master named Breen and she tells him that her Dragon Fallyn won’t meet with him unless he travels through the Fairy Mound alone. She goes with him for most of the journey, but she isn’t able to help him. He goes through many different tests and some tricks, but eventually he makes his way through to meet Fallyn.Given that he is able to prove that he is pure of heart and that he doesn’t want to use Fallyn’s magic to cause trouble or chaos, Fallyn agrees to go back to Bracken and help. This was a really nice addition to the series. I enjoyed meeting the new Dragon Master and Dragon. I enjoyed getting to know Drake and Worm more. I really like this series as it is really well written. The story and the illustration go together nicely.I look forward to reading the next book in the series when it is released!

My 1st grader loves this
My son got one of these dragon masters book last summer from the library for free. We only got through couple chapters in the summer as he was just picking up reading. His reading improved a lot during the year and he asked me to get him the series during the school year. We had the 12 book set since end of last year but he never got to them. Once school closed in March he started reading all of them on his own. He can now read 1 book a day (this book is 6042 words according to the AR website). He just finished this book #14 & still super interested. I like how this series has some pictures which keeps the younger ones interested and also enough words for the starting readers to practice reading. Thanks to this dragon masters series my son is getting in the habit of reading on his own without me sitting with him. And how do I know he is actually reading the words and not just browsing through while looking at the pictures? He’s passing all the AR quizzes that is associated with the books! Love it!!

Amazing for the challenged reader! (From the mom of a dyslexic.)
Scholastic's set labeled BRANCHES series are amazing books crafted to help readers transition to chapter books.**Larger Font **Smart Word Choices **More Pictures **Interesting StoriesMy daughter was a struggling reader and we came upon Dragon Masters due to my daughter's endless love for all things Dragon. At the time my daughter was 8-9 years old, absolutely loved all stories, had a high comprehension level but was struggling with reading (as a dyslexic she was playing catch up in decoding). Reading would lead to tears and frustration. Not with Dragon Masters. The design of the books gave her the freedom to read and to enjoy reading!Dragon Masters was the first book I found her reading on her own.I highly recommend this or other Branches books if your student struggles. Not only that, but after many hard years of work to close the reading gap, my daughter still loves this series. We buy the books the books the day they are released. Only now they simply last a day and have been read completely. Definitely a problem that this mom of a struggling reader welcomes! :)

This Series Has Transformed my Young Reader
My 4th grader has trouble reading due to learning disabilities. This dragon series has completely changed his reading experience! He LOVES the plot and LOVES the generous amount of pictures throughout each book. He is so excited to read because he can't wait to continue the story. And he has reached a new competency in reading. This is the first series of books he can actually read completely independently. Reading can be so cumbersome (due to his learning disabilities), and this series has brought the joy back into reading for him! Thank you!!

Great first step to chapter type books. Start with Volume 1!
My 5 year old found Volume 1 in a library by chance. We took it home and read it together that day. She loved it and couldn't stop talking about it. Fast forward and we now have every single book in the series. We've probably read them all at least twice over. These are her first chapter books. They are a great transition away from picture books. They are exciting but not scary, and leave good cliff hangers so they want to keep reading. We have been buying the books for friends' kids and they are always a hit.Keep them coming!

Our kids LOVE the Dragon Master's book series
We needed a good "first chapter" series with lots of pictures as for bedtime routine as picture books just became rather expensive. So I searched the internet and came across the recommendation for Scholastic's Dragon Masters book series. They LOVE all the characters/dragons in the books and love guessing what each person can do and what powers the dragons have.Whenever possible we use the Kindle edition and broadcast it to our TV via our Amazon Firebox (via wireless projection) so that everyone can see the text and the pictures. Unfortunately not all the books are available for Amazon Kindle, so some books we had to buy as hard paper and we are running out of space in our bookshelves as we have sooo many books, so we prefer electronic copies. Electronic copies also allow us to share it onto their Amazon Fire tablets for kids.Again, LOVED by all of our kids and we have different ages and grasp of the world. Unfortuantely we have read ALL the books available and now have to wait until March 2021 until the next book comes out.

Huge hit for 7-8 year old new readers
My daughter loves these books. We read them together when she was 6, and at 7 she reads them on her own (she is a pretty capable reader). The pages are half words, half pictures and they have about 90 pages per book and multiple chapters. The themes are nicely gender neutral and the main characters are all 8-year-olds who have big jobs to save the world. I know of several other girls who have really gotten into reading independently because of these books. Highly recommend!

Well written and enjoyable for my 7 year old
I recently purchased the entire set of the Dragon Masters collection for my 7 year old.The story is written well enough that they are able to read, and understand the terminology of the book well.We really enjoyed the questions and activities included at the end of each book.Great stories!!We can't wait for more!!

Another solid Dragon Masters book
While these books are a tad predictable at this point, they are always enjoyable to read, & my daughter continues to love them. This one in particular veers off the beaten path a little bit more than usual, as the dragon masters venture into the land of fairies, where magic is aplenty, things are never quite what they seem, & Drake & company find many new obstacles & challenges to overcome.

Great transition from picture books to chapter books.
Scholastic Branches books are excellent first chapter books for young readers. My son loves this series and we own the first 14now. We've recommended them to many of his friends, and to our local library.
