I read from other comments that the pre-drilled holes did not align. But since this is a beautiful rack made out of solid wood, I just had to try it.And the holes were perfect! No need to re-drill.So I think the other people who complained about the holes probably screwed on one side tightly before starting to screw on the other side. No!! This is what you should do instead:1. assemble the rack on a towel flipped 90 degrees (so standing on a side)2. screw on the top side the four screws all a little bit in, make sure the screws are aligned vertically and not slanted, unscrew the little bit and readjust if necessary.3. flip 180 degrees over to the other side (be careful not to have the shallow screwed in screws fall out!!)4. repeat step 2 on the other side5. repeat step 3 to go to the first side6. screw in the first side's screw a bit more in, flip, do the same for the other side7. so go back and forth a few times, gradually screwing in everything. This way, all the screws will fit neatly in all the pre-drilled holes.

I bought this for my desk at school. I'm a teacher and really needed something to help organize the top of my desk. I have heavy math texts as well as 3-ring binders to keep my handouts, etc. I needed something very sturdy to accommodate the weight of the textbooks. This did the job. Not only does it look stylish, it serves its purpose well. The assembly was reasonably easy. Definitely need strength with the use of the allen wrench (included). You will not be disappointed.

i bought this to hold my collection of cook books in my kitchen it was nice quality item no cheep quality here just found it was a little too long for me but i could cut it down a bit because i dont plan on buying any more cook books so it will be perfect for my kitchen counter top so thnxs amazon for a nice product one little thing the allen wrench is too short i found it a pain need long wrench to get leverage to turn screws.

Sturdy wood (not wood product) with smooth finish. Advice is to not use the Allen wrench that comes with it but use a screw driver with Allen bit so you can get the screws in straight and avoid splitting the wood. Pilot holes lined up nicely. I'm using mine for cookbooks and the rack is definitely built heavy enough for them. Would have given it a 5 except I would have liked screw covers/wooden buttons for the recessed screws for a more finished look.

Perfect to hold our cookbooks in the kitchen. I didn't have the problem that others have noted with the holes not aligning. However, the disposable Allen wrench that comes with this to assemble the unit quickly became stripped. The holes are slightly undersized, which results in a tight, snug fit once the screws are properly seated, but the supplied Allen wrench was not up to the task. I got out my good Allen wrench set and was able to assemble this in no time. We're happy with this, it does exactly what we wanted. Just use a good Allen wrench to assemble it.

Thanks Amazon! Very pleased with this purchase. I was surprised that the book shelf came in a slim box and needed some assembly. But the allen wrench was included with the screws and the wood wasn't damaged with the packaging.Make sure to gently set all screws first, then tighten them. It took me about five minutes to put together on my own.Nice quality – hard wood not particle board. I bought this for my son’s room and his furniture is more of a honey pine color. This bookshelf is more of a natural pine color but still very nice so it didn’t look too out of place.

Love this SHELF it fits on my 88 year old father dresser perfect.He loves to read (has a lot of books) and its hard for him to reach bottom shelf of his book case.This nicely made and simple shelf has helped us move his books up higher for less bending.Less worrying about him falling too for me.Looks Very Nice. Well made. Took Little Effort to put together.The only thing is I wish they would have sent wood buttons to cover screw...but that's just me.I would buy another shelf. Received Quickly and Well Packed. Would recommend this seller.

I am sorry I bought this item. It is not made in the USA. It is made in Vietnam. Assembly shows Phil screwdriver but it is Allen wrench assembly. I hate Allen wrench. Assembled according to instructions. Holes lined up ok. Instructed not to tighten the screws until all screws were in. Even at following this it does not set level to one side even after applying sticky pads included. For the price it is costly considering how tough it was for me a 70 yo to tighten up the Allen wrench screws. Also ordered another catskill craftsmen item that now I wished I hadn’t since I struggled with this supposed easy item. I’ll have to find someone to assemble the microwave cart now
